I have just done this update on 2 computers and both seem to have slowed to a crawl.

Anyone else experience this after the update?

I have also just done the AVG update to version 8 at pretty much the same time.

I am trying to figure out who my culprit is for eating up my resources

wow dude, eerie. Just got my computer from work with xp. Downloaded avg and same thing......slow as molasass in alaska. Must be some kinda routing problem. Don't matter.....I can still wait an extra minute for the **** to download.........

It's AVG, go back to version 7.35. Search and you can still find it online.

Macintosh is just gliding along. Not a care in the world.
All the while wondering why they can't seem to capture more than 7% of the computer market? :fool:

Uhhhh...nope.

And when the new update to Leopard was released this week my Mac had been running for 30 days. The only reason it wasn't longer was that I had to shut it down to install a UPS a month ago.

Still, if a Windows PC floats your boat and allows you to do all the things you want then great.

AVG sucks. I've yanked it twice from my office computer and the hired IT guy keeps putting it back on. Update, no update, it sucks. Further confirms my belief that free **** is, well, ****.

Oh and thanks for that FP link, HiYo. :good:

lucky for me, where I work it would be pointless to install encryption software on them. we have developing software that could disable it for "testing" reasons. come to think of it the hardware monitors don't even work anymore, i think we modded our computers to not use "useless" junk so as to increase "productivity" as you call it (read forums and such at the same time)

Spend $29.95 and get bitDefender (allows usage on up to 3 pcs), and then use free ZoneAlarm for firewall.

Excellent combo.

Drink the Kool Aid, baby. LOL!

BTW, just to confirm what a joke Apple Kooks are, take a look at the screenshot of the stats page from one of my

radio station websites...

Yes, Let's all love the company who released a firmware update for the Ipod classic which, without warning, disabled the video output to an external monitor unless the external device had a special apple authentication chip. All of those hundreds of dollars of accessories just stopped working, and apple's tech support line then claims the problem is with the accessories.

Yeah, I want to get behind that!

Hey, Apple pissed me off long ago with that phuckin Sad Face icon. It looked way too much like one of my ex-wives when I asked for SOME ***, ANY ***.

:)

There's no way I'm going there again. The blowup doll runs by Windows when she crashes, I get to see all the reasons why and play doctor. Apples are for fried pies, period!!!

:)

Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition... about $9 /seat. Screw AVG!!!
