    Moody Blues Lyric

Interesting Thread..........Love this forum! You can tell when the weather goes downhill in much of the nation by the threads posted. Much better than a dogpile thread though. Sorry for the hi-jack..........It's cold & drizzling here with fog. Write safe. Ron

Where Does Scorpio Alarm OEM Connector go?

I seem to remember on my 05 that it was under the pillon seat. On Gen II bikes it is where escape said.

Can the linked brakes be unlinked?

Exactly how I felt after riding my 05ABS FJR for over 20K. After a bike totaling get-off (unrelated to brakes) I ended up buying an 07 FJR after much questioning of if I really wanted the linked brakes. I was very concerned about being leaned over in a curve and needing to apply a bit of trail...

    braking distance

I must admit that I was somewhat surprised when I read the brake data in the article. On my 05 I think I could beat that stopping distance and I always felt that the rear ABS kicked in a bit early. The 07 certainly feels to be quicker in the stopping than the 05 (linked brakes?). At any rate...

    Periodic chart

I always thought that the chicken looked happy after he crossed the road! Now we know why he crossed the road.

    MPG

My previous 05 FJR got in the low 40's usually around 45. The current 07 gets a tad bit better, perhaps low to mid 40's usually 46. For me it is speed dependent. Typically I get my best gas mileage when carrying a passenger (I ride more conservatively then) on the country roads out of town...

    watts up?

I understand a "soft" rev limiter. Said to kill fuel injection on two cylinders to ease the abruption at speed. There has been discussion about the exact RPM it kicks in-varying opinions. I hit it a couple of times on my 05 but have not hit it yet on my 07.

    NAFO Dates Set!

So, I understand that the exact site hasn't been selected yet. Possible negioations going on, etc. Is there a target date for when the exact location will be made known? If so when? TWN & others Thanks MUCH for all the work. RonBB

    Wal-Mart

I have had good luck with the "copper" style of steel wool like normally used in the kitchen. I used it on melted rubber (boot sole)on the exhaust pipes. I haven't tried it on plastic but would if need be. Best of luck & let us know what you use & how it worked. Ron

Does Riding Make You a Better Driver

I've always thought so. I guess it depends on your definition of "better driver". More aware, yes.

    riding with high beams on

I guess I am in the minority here. I think our FJR lights will be seen on low beam if they are seen on high beam. I don't like meeting anyone with lights on high beam, day or night, & I certainly don't appreciate them being on high beam when they are behind me. Perhaps I am less tolerant than...

    My personal toxic waist site

I have a buddy who has a waste oil buring heater in the hanger of his avionics shop. He burns the old used engine oil for heat in the winter. Also one of the local independent tire stores has a similar heater in their garage. A good solution to my way of thinking.

    FJRF004: The 2006/7 Altitude Fix

Warchild, Dale many thanks. I didn't see this thread until today although I have been following this issue (other threads) for a long time. I personally have not experienced the problem yet on my 07 but it is only because the last higher altitude I rode at was on my 05 in the mountains & I...
