If I didn't have bad luck....

I'm a bit confused - Was this damage caused by an overloaded top box or saddlebag?

Winter Project - Reviving a Wounded FJR

Going with longer bolts is a crap-shoot for sure. That connection is too important to just hope the threads that might be beyond the damaged area will hold. Why not do a Heli-coil and the connection will be repaired for good? You could get creative with the thread pitch also if that makes...

    Duluth around lake superior

I chose to go clockwise thinking if there was a reason to want to pull over to take a picture or whatever - there would be no need to cross over the oncoming lane.

    Duluth around lake superior

I've done it a few times - prefer the clockwise version. A must do ride if you are able.

    Footpeg options?

I agree about the suspension and it's on its way.It has nothing to do with ground clearance, I need all the feedback and control a solid peg gives me.

    Footpeg options?

To answer your question -----I replaced the big rubber squishy stock footpegs with R6 pegs and they fit fine. Under certain conditions near the edge of the tires traction limits feedback (and input) through the pegs is important.

    McCruise Installation help

This is the way it works ---Start out with a clean secure space and a 3/8 and 1/4 inch metric socket set/decent screw driver collection/a few pliers/open and box end wrenches. If you can start there - and have the time, and able to take your time, this is something you can do. The sad truth is...

    High mileage pickups?

Any type of machine is going to wear the most in short run conditions - cold engine components getting warm. If the truck was used for long trips - many miles with things being at the normal operating temp is a better way to run a truck. I'd prefer to buy from the person who put the miles on as...

    Project KZ1300

Back in the 80's a pal took me for a walk through the GM tech center in Detroit and there was the engine from a Kow 1300 laying on the floor in a corner. I asked about it and it was explained to me it was things like this that get dyno'd and then pulled apart and studied. A few months later he...
