    Fork Brace

Nearly new Motor Cycle Larry (MCL) fork brace for FJR. I recently bought this for a steering head wobble that I've decided was totally related to tires so no need for a fork brace. $50 and I'll pay the freight anywhere in US.

2006 Carb TB Synch - EMGO Synch Tool

Got my new Carbtune Pro4 today and performed the unauthorized TB sync, took about an hour. Previously I used a two channel Harmonizer to do the sync and all seemed well but it seemed that i was getting just a touch more 4 cylinder buzz when riding than before. I thought it was all in my head...

    PRIMO 2010 FJR1300A

Perfect low mileage (6,038 miles) with all maintenance performed. Goodies include: Cee Bailey windshield, GIVI V46 trunk with GIVI mounting system, passenger peg lowering kit, factory service manual, tip over bars front and rear, NEW Russell Day Long solo saddle, New Michelin PR2 tires, high...

Gen I compared to Gen III

I got to agree with you. My '93 R1100RS does out handle my FJR and I do like the telelever of course a 120lb lighter weight advantage and shorter wheel base does help. I like the ease of routine maintenance on the beemer as well. That said I like overnighters with wife on the FJR over the...

Fork Seal Leak at 21k Miles?

Hey K_Flyer, is BMW starting to look better? Just asking.

    2018 FJR Details Released

I'll keep my 2010 thanx very much and from the looks of things it will be my last FJR but that's OK because I like the liquid silver beast five speed tranny and all.

Lesson learned: Go easy on the key when opening/closing panniers!

FJR keys are like butter. Probably made out of left over pot metal used to make the front fairing sub-frame on the gen3 bikes. Wasn't long after I bought my gen2 that I had some decent keys made.

Flow matched fuel injectors - WOW WOW WOW - Radman was right

Sent my injectors to RC Engineering last winter (2010 FJR) for cleaning and testing and couldn't tell any difference when I re-installed them. RC tests the flow rates before and after cleaning. Mine were dripping and somewhat un-balanced before and good after. The bike only had about 4K miles...

    FJR vs CanAm fully loaded

Many more Spiders? No doubt true. I think just another fad in this fad prone country that will fade away as quickly as it began. Also, it seems from my observations that most of these trike riders tend to be older for the most part and probably bored with too much disposable income. I will...

    FJR vs CanAm fully loaded

I'll still take the Mustang GT to any tricycle and if you buy my '11 GT/CS you will pay many thousands less than for a trike. Not a convertible though.

    Wideband O2 sensor

Just one question and I'm done. Is there a way to detect closed loop like a pin on the ECU changing state that one can monitor with a VOM meter? I might this winter, if I get good and bored, have a bung welded on my head pipe just ahead of the cat chamber. Fred, what manual are you using that...

    Wideband O2 sensor

I'm not familiar with vehicle emissions testing since I've never lived in a place where that is required. It kind of surprises me that it doesn't go closed loop at idle. I've decided the only way to get meaningful data at this point would be to have another O2 sensor bung installed opposite...

    Wideband O2 sensor

Just got off the phone with an Innovate Motor Sports tech and long and short is the LC-2 or LC-1 simply won't work on an FJR with this floating ground not being in common with the power ground, end of story. He suggested connecting the two together and I told him I tried but screwed up the...

    Wideband O2 sensor

In the FSM wiring diagrams it shows a black/blue wire attached to one side of the O2 sensor which acts as a common return for not only the O2 sensor but all the other sensors previously listed as well. This is a floating ground or common and only connects to a pin on the ECU. The earlier...

    Wideband O2 sensor

Hi dcarver, No, I didn't notice much of a change in idle RPM at different CO settings. Well, maybe a slight drop at +20. For the heck of it I checked the idle AFR at different CO settings with a warm engine. 0 = 13.5:1 +7 = 13.0:1 +10 = 12.9:1 +15 = 12.7:1 +20 = 12.4:1 The readings...

    Wideband O2 sensor

And now the rest of the story. It doesn't work connecting the black/blue wire (floating ground) to ground because doing so screws up the other sensor inputs to the ECU which causes the bike to not idle well at all in open loop with much sputtering and occasionally dyeing. The LC-2 uses battery...

    Wideband O2 sensor

OK, I've had a fun and informative morning. The LC-2 does its thing after you ground the black/blue wire which completes the circuit for the O2 sensor simulated input from the LC-2. Doing this doesn't seem to adversely effect the FJR's other sensors that being the crankshaft position sensor...

Good point. I removed the system early on.

    Wideband O2 sensor

Got the wideband O2 sensor with LC-2 controller installed this afternoon. Will program it up tomorrow morning and see what happens. Will start with an AFR of 13.5:1 and go from there.
