    Road ID Sale

Good reminder! I wore mine 24/7 and, after wearing out a of wrist bands, switched to the dog tag on a chain. Don't leave home without it.

    16th annual “Bite the Wieenie”

Looking forward to it? . The last couple years we were out of the country in November, but this year....

Out with the old, in with the new

+1 on avoiding Lost Angeles. Any time I need to ride through there, I try to plan the transit between 0400 and 0530. Lane sharing makes it barely tolerable when an early run isn't an option. Enjoy your new wheels and your trip!

    The FJR Bird Strike Poll

    Yup.

    I need to shrink

Another 5'15", 210+ pound data set: I entered the FJR world through the Honda door, too - a Hondapotamus/Wingabago. After a dozen years on the 'Wing I was ready for something smaller, lighter, more... Fun. I did the obligatory 20-minute group test ride at a dealer and loved it. Then waited...

Witnesses for 50 CC April 10-12?

Haha. When I was cropping the photo, I thought about that. Why should I deprive viewers of "visual interest"?

Witnesses for 50 CC April 10-12?

One of these days I'll remember how to embed photos. Or remember my name. Or how to feed myself. It's always fun to ride down and greet riders at the end of a crossing. They all seemed awake & alert, able to enjoy "the moment" and finish their paperwork. They had exceptionally good weather for...

Witnesses for 50 CC April 10-12?

Aw, c'mon - at least give them time to eat breakfast and cross the state line before mentioning that on a public forum!

    FJR curious

RoXXanne has a six speed. I don't know what Honda was thinking: it'll go from zero to "good morning, your honor" (90+) in first gear. What a waste of gears! To the OP: Best of success in your search and the decision. You know, just because you have a 'hard ceiling' of $12k doesn't mean you...

    Best options for tail bag?

For weekend trips on the FJR, I just bungee-strap a large gym bag across the seat. Easy on/off, large capacity. For my tank bag I use a Nelson-Rigg CL2020. Plenty of capacity, expandable, and has the handy holders for GPS and Phone. The CL2020 does double duty as a tail bag on my Blackbird. I...

    R1200RT - Thoughts?

The only thing this discussion has left out is: "JSNS". Sure miss that Mick.

    Other Polycarbonate windshield manufacturers...

All true, but... I've had a V-Stream on my Hondapotamus for over 5 years with not one scratch, no yellowing. Keep in mind that I don't scrub it with dirt on it and don't use paper towels either. Seems to me that the minor inconvenience of RTFM and care have paid dividends. When it rains (rare...

Stripped final gear case filler bolt hole

"I take full responsibility for my [lack of] actions." Somewhere between the "roaching" suggestions (which seem to me to be excellent 'on the road' repairs, avoiding getting bent over by a shop who knows you're in a pickle) and the "correct" repairs... Is the obvious, BEST, option: Shop around...

Radiohowie is BACK after 2 months gone!

Dayum. He don't call, he don't write. An unscheduled dismount. That explains it. You do remember that this is a motorcycle forum, right? Mentioning that you lost 30 IQ points just leaves most of us asking... "So what's the BAD news, bro?" Best wishes for a speedy recovery. You gonna add...

A Quickie... Mental Health Day that is... ;)

Thanks for the photos & RR, Tyler. Brought back great memories of the Father's Day RTE a couple years ago. Here's to trunks of memories still to come!

    Going to the Dark Side

Todd - Just a couple of insignificant data points, since others have pretty much covered the subject. First, congrats on being willing to give it a try! I've been running CTs (run flat) on my Wingabago for several years, so I didn't have a mental roadblock when it came to the FJR. I was...
