    Three Months With New FJR

Greg, Since you changed to the Sargent seat, is it possible that is what moved you back a little? They may have a 'closer to the tank ' option instead of pulling the bars back further.  The other option is a custom seat build (I have a BMS) that will bring you where you want to be.

Gen 3 Won’t Fire After Synch Correction

Search 'Fast Starter Syndrome' as many of us have had it.   Usually it seemed to show up on older bikes,  so this proves age doesn't matter.   YMMV

    Changing Times

Loved the RR!  I took notes on a few roads when I get back to the GA and TN area. Also loved your kind comments about your wife.  Mine too! I quit buying tickets as well!  Ride well and stay well.  Retirement is coming ... whenever you want it to.

    Gen2 stock pipes

Technically, all model years would fit on a 2007.  Gen 1 is a little lighter with 1 less cat.  Gen 2 has an extra cat in the pipe.  Gen 3 has no extra cat and larger holes in the rear... a little throatier too.

Is ES worth the money ?

Just a note ... the A model has a rear shock adjustment lever for instantly stiffer rear suspension. I use it when I pick up a rider, but you do have to stop to use it ... not on the fly.   It works for me ... and other folks who like things simpler (and cheaper).

Cracked Fairing Panel After Service Visit

Time to find a friend who likes to work on bikes more than you do. I have a local FJR group that teaches me something new each year... and I belong to the www.cog-online.org (concours) club that meets for rides and tech regularly. Join 1 or both groups and you will find most folks can do...

    Purolator L14610 - dont buy

I think Yamaha still fits. The old # is longer, the new # is shorter... but both work well. YMMV

    Growing up

I like the expression 'You're as old as you feel'. Some days I feel like I'm 18 ... some days I feel like I'm 80. Relish them all, because you are the result of all your prior experiences.

Thinking of moving to the FJR

Many friends have ridden the ST , and loved it. The ride is silky smooth but 'Turbine like' with that noisy trasmission or ??? But the back seat was very popular! The FJR is smaller (feeling) than the ST and feels 'sportier' with less weight and 'Sport drive mode' ... but the back seat is...
