I did that ride from Vegas to Lake Isabella the weekend before Christmas. I actually rode to Bakersfield and met up with a friend and rode up 178 along the Kern river to the lake and back down the other side. It was 29 deg and snow on the ground when I left. Did it without heated gear. Won't...
