    Summer jacket recommendations?

While I am saving my nickels and dimes for full kevlar protection, I am wearing a Scorpion Hat Trick. It is a mesh jacket that has removable waterproof and insulating liners. I have been happy with it's versatility and fit. I had mine ordered without all the fancy writing..... just not my look.

    Nevada 1099 Ride Report

Great report on what sounds like a fantastic ride! Any chance we are going to get to see those state line pictures......... just for verification purposes of course. I would be willing to accept a copy of a speeding ticket as well, but it sounds like you were fortunate enough to elude one of...

Why so many '05 FJRs on the market?

IMHO....... I don't give a $#*@ what YOU decide to ride, just get out there and ride!! Life is too short not to be out twisting the throttle of whatever machine you choose. It has also been my experience that no matter what generation of FJR owner I have run across, they all seem to love their...

    A very moving video

Great video, those guys put their whole heart out there when singing. A little different from some of the studio polished musicians we often see on store shelves. Thanks for the link!

Do you ride with your Hard Bags?

You got me on that one!! I would like to amend my previous statement to 84% of the time, I also leave them off for washing.

Do you ride with your Hard Bags?

[quote name='RenoJohn' date='May 1 2009, 10:03 AM' post='578346' Why ride a fat chick when you can ride a svelte one? To me it's that simple. I concur with your logic completely, in a one way or the other sense. But imagine a chick strong and capable enough to pack all your gear all day...

Do you ride with your Hard Bags?

I ride with mine on about 85% of the time. If I am headed out for a short jaunt and the bags will be empty, I take them off and go with the tank bag. Short jaunts just don't seem to be my thing, hence me buying the FJR, and I am not a big fan of having a backpack on so most the time the bags...

How old are you FJR riders?

I am 35 and only ride 2up 5% of the time. In the event of a water landing, your pillion may be used as a flotation device.

Where to buy Zumo in PNW?

I am looking to add a Zumo 550 to my 2008A. I have seen several advertised on the internet, some as low as $600, but was hoping to give some business to a local dealer in these difficult times. I live in the Portland, Or area, but am always willing to go for a ride :yahoo: :yahoo:!!! Thanks...

So I Think I'm About To Know A Dead Guy

I would have to agree with two reoccurring themes in this thread. First is that you have done more than your part in trying to help this kid understand the risks he is taking on. Second is the thought of getting him to the track. It has been my experience that guys with little to no fear take...

    Got some new cans

FJRDave, I have the TB Carbon pipes on my 08, and have attached a few pics. Unfortunately I do not have much information on them as they were already on the bike when I bought it. I love the way they sound and have not had any negative experience with them in the 700ish miles I have ridden...

    Left Work Early

Sounds like a group I can not afford to miss. I would have to pull a few strings, but should be able to make it if the weather chooses to cooperate. Keep us updated on the time and place if reports continue to look dry!

    Left Work Early

The ride started amongst freshly blooming trees in downtown Portland. From there I headed west to see all that there was to see, this church caught my attention early on. Ate lunch at the famous Helvetia Tavern, where I ran into a couple of local FJR riders. I got distracted by this...

    First ride and first report

I will take you up on that. I have not had too much of an opportunity to tour around over there, but would love to have some "insider" info. As soon as the passes dry up a bit I will be headed that way....... see you then.

    First ride and first report

I make quite a few trips to the sunny side of the mountain during the year and am looking forward to making them much quicker this summer on the FJR!! I have often wondered about the Paulina Peak drive, but never made it up there. May have to add that to my list of rides to make when the...

    Slippery seat?

One thing you could try as a safety measure is to have one of the HD style buttons placed in the middle of the seat. At least then if you did start to slide off, your a$$hole would have something to grab holt to!!!

I dont want to Stop March 2009

Very nicely done, excellent song choice and I dig the numerous camera angles!!! I liked the "pipe" over towards the end with the shot from your helmet cam, gives the viewer a real sense of being there. Great work, keep'em comin'!!!!!!!!!

    Death Valley Damsels

Fantastic report, great pictures and well written to boot. Glad you enjoyed the ride, wish I was there instead of splashing through the rain drenched streets of PDX!!!!

    Another Excellent Garauld Job

Very nicely done. I had not thought of this idea, but it really provides the bike with a unique look. I like it!!!!
