    Smuggler Police Gen1

It's probably used for radio or emergency equipment (siren amplifier, strobe power pack) on a police bike. Putting that stuff in a tail box leaves the panniers free for the rider's personal and duty equipment. It's not user serviced equipment, so there's no need for a hinged lid.

    2013 FJR on Ebay

That ad worries me a bit. At one point they say the bike is in Florida, at another they say California. Now I know I'm just a dumb Canuck, and I know states are way smaller than provinces but that seems like an issue.

Brand New 09 AE offered on E-Bay

All of eBay's motorcycle listing have a mandatory field for warranty status. A wise buyer would ensure they had a screen shot of the information there in addition to other sensible precautions when actually taking delivery. Unless the seller went out of business, the purchaser would be in a...

Brand New 09 AE offered on E-Bay

There's a few dealers who have the same idea. I guess they'll be laughing at us in twenty-five years when the bikes are eligible for collector plates and the museum bidding wars begin... At least I think that's their strategy. :(

    FS: FJR1300AE 4900miles, extras

It was on Seattle Craig's List and has disappeared from there, too. It's always tough finding out that something you want to sell has depreciated more than you expected.

2006 FJR A loaded..the one you have been waiting for!

I bought a beautiful 2008 FJR this time last year in Oregon. It wasn't quite as heavily loaded as yours, but the condition was "as new." I had it inspected by a Yamaha dealer near the seller before driving down to get it. When I asked the shop about the condition of the bike, their reply was...

    Two new leftover 09 AE's $11,700 each

The dealers in WA state seem to have some of the highest prices. I don't know if the economy is better in WA so they can get that kind of money, or if they are trying to start a FJR museum in their show room.

    Two new leftover 09 AE's $11,700 each

NADA says avg retail on that is about $12,400.00 But with zero miles his price is really good I'd say. Do you know where he got these hold overs from? It wasn't some weird water damage bikes from another part of the country or anything I hope. I still would have a hard time using a button to...

craiglist DC 2007 AE low miles, decent price

And he's included the keyword "concourse" to catch the eye of prospective Kawusuki buyers...

    Additional brake light installation

For what it's worth, I recently rode a friend's bike and had an opportunity to see how the light worked while he rode my FJR. After following my FJR for a while, I can say all the functions (tail, brake and signal lights) are as bright or slightly brighter than the stock lamps in full day...

Opinions on the 2008 I'm considering (and how much I should offer for it)?

I purchased a 2008 with 18k miles in April. The bike had several pieces of additional equipment and was in "as new" condition. The seller was in Oregon, we agreed on $8500. Prior to that I'd done quite a bit of research on ebay, Craigs List, and various on line sites. Based on that research, I...

    Rear light wiring

Although that sounds like a slick solution, remember that the van is never (well hopefully never) driven with the door removed. So this concept doesn't convert well to use with a removable accessory. Assuming you could find the necessary parts from an automotive source, you would have to come up...

    Additional brake light installation

Damn, missed another photo. Here's the wiring on the outside of the fender. If there's some way to modify my original post to includes these photos, please do so and remove these additions!

    Additional brake light installation

Oh crap, I can't seem to modify the post for a photo link. Here's the wiring underneath the fender.

    Additional brake light installation

Hi, I haven't written one of these before, but here goes... I was hunting for an additional brake light for my 2008 FJR. There were several products to consider, but when I found out that Admore Lighting sold a wiring harness to add to my FJR I didn't look any further. The link to the wiring...

    Quick Fastener

Never mind, Bob. Just figured out one side of the rivet is broken off. Trip to the dealer. Is there some trick to getting those rotten SOBs out without breaking them?

    Turn Signal Flasher

Does anyone have a trade or part number for the turn signal flasher? I know where it's located, but I don't want to go digging for it unless absolutely necessary. I am contemplating installing LEDs in place of the existing turn signal bulbs. I've seen the link to the $50 :dribble: adjustable...

    Stebel Nautilus install by Greenman

Very clean installation. It's a bit hard to tell, but is the horn upside down once it's installed? Meaning the opening is at the top not the bottom. If that's the case, do you have any concerns about water accumulating inside? I think you should have your hearing tested in a year to see if...

    New jacket help

I have the Olympia one piece suit. Olympia Phantom I found it on sale for a price well below the cost of separate pants and jacket. It's much easier to put on than you might think - I expect I can put it on quite a bit faster than a two piece set. I'm very pleased with the fit and quality of...

    Tail Bag

Yes, they're showing it used as a seatbag. I was hoping to attach it to the luggage rack.
