Loud Pipes (When Lane Splitting In California)

Take it all with a grain of (condescending bullshit) salt folks... and remember, we don't all ride the same way. We don't all view the same safety factors the same way. we don't all do anything the same way. and last but not least, we don't all lane split the same way. that shouldn't be...

oh man oh man you guys ;) I think I might quit at this point... but before I go!! hahahah ya knew it was coming ;) if ya haven't done this guys than you might want to learn from those that have! In Mikes case, he likes some aspects not others. And still others that lane split will do...

Prayers for the family's in Newtown, CT

Like everyone else... such a senseless tragedy, seemingly impossible to fathom why anyone would do such a thing. Guess in way of understanding we just have to realize there are some majorly Forked people among us, they need mental help. On a side note, I know that area well. My parents lived...

Loud Pipes (When Lane Splitting In California)

Definitely don't want to beat this dead horse... But because you may not realize, not having done this. Most (all?) of the splitting riders do in Cali is simply filtering up to the front of traffic at a light. So the cars are stopped and the bikes are getting to the front. Because sound isn't...

How My Risk Equation Has Changed

Certainly respect that James. Part of the way I keep my risk down is avoiding riding in rush hour traffic (Tucson) as much as possible. Good luck to you.

Here's a real motorcycle madness in Russia, scary, ah?

That's just unbelievable. Cagers that don't know how to drive, motorcyclists that don't know how to ride... Never seen anything so ridiculous in my life.

I would just like to point out.. the above brilliant post was the first one in this thread!

Loud Pipes (When Lane Splitting In California)

FTFY This is when we start getting into the silliness of this folks. Guess that's why we call it neprt? Maybe they see you, maybe they don't look because they're texting? Maybe they hear you instead of see you? People have (basically) five senses, nothing wrong with trying to alert them of...

Loud Pipes (When Lane Splitting In California)

Look back at what the OP said... he was talking about a "cut off valve" and other things that would allow to "turn on the loud" when needed, and turn it off when not needed... Don't think anyone here (especially!) would disagree... loud "I'm a moron" pipes are idiotic. But when Lane Splitting...

    Gyroscopic Stability on new "motorcyle"?

I like it, no doubt it's part of the future. But, if you come into a corner so hot, no matters how much the bike leans (maximum available) that you won't make it... you won't make it, plain and simple. One very positive thing though, the gyros are probably gonna be more capable of getting to...

Loud Pipes (When Lane Splitting In California)

This topic has been misunderstood. The OP mentioned loud pipes when LANE SPLITTING in California. Have you ever done that? I have. Yes, they are going slow enough that loud pipes can be heard ahead of them.

Loud Pipes (When Lane Splitting In California)

Lane splitting is a different animal. With different needs for riders. Found that out on recent trip up US1, San Diego to San Fran. It's Very Common for riders to be revving the bike to be heard. At the slower speeds for splitting, you can hear them coming from behind. It helps. My Versys has...
