<_< Well do not get upset at me, I only read the first few replies,

If all the changes that were made to the FJR for 06, then I guess one should wait until 07 to buy.

Unless you are a pioneer like those that bought before the rest of us did.

I kind of like having one of a handful of a model in my area. I always see the sport bike riders checking this out when I running out in front and they do not catch me easily.

I still love my ride, it's an 05 in the shop for the rear diff oil seal, warranty work. 12.00 part.

That has been dripping on the left side of my rear wheel, almost since I took it home. 14 months ago.

Wasn't a waiter just in the right place at the right time.

reported to dealer, who advised probably road grime, brack dust.

Now it appears to me that if the dealers are not interested enough to remove the wheel to take a look, and or they just do not know enough about this bike here yet.

Removed wheel to have tires changed and a small bike shop mech found it. Wish the yes plan could be used anywhere there is a certified mech.

So, now Yamaha gives them changes in the design, so they can try to learn those when they have not gained experience on the earlier models.

I will have this pricey, to me ride, until it runs no more, or I decide that a newer model or different breed is needed.

Until then it's a game you never no what your going to get. I for one bought this after just seeing it on the internet. That is how much it pleased my eyes.

One twist of the throttle told me I did not make a mistake, front wheel off ground set it back down easy.

Yes warranty for 389. from D&H, worth every penny, even if we are dealing with uneducated people.

buy something else; if you were meant to get something that wasn't quite right it doesn't matter what you buy you're going to get it.

I read online that Yamaha installed all the returned 'ticker' valvetrains on the new '06's. :D

:assassin:

Here`s another one skooter et al can digest ! :assasin: "Re: comment from twowheelnut: Right side?! The promblem is usually on the left. Take another listen...
I have a new '06 FJR with 400 miles on it. It has a very light ticking coming from the left crankcase side at very light or no load around 2000-3000 RPM then it's gone. It's not there when the engine is cold and it's just loud enough to hear when passing thru that RPM going thru the gears...but only under a light load. It sure doesn't sound like the valves and it's coming from the lower end. I was thinking maybe the tranny gears or balancer wearing in? Dealer said he didn't think it was serious and to give it a few hundred miles yet.

Thanks! (courtesy of "yamahasforever")

I have about 850 miles on my 06 and have noticed the "ticking", (i think it sounds more like a vibrating part) at around 2200 rpm up to 2800 rpm. First thing i thought of was "Dammit, i got a ticker". But the actual noise does not sound mechanical. So i am not worried about it while she is still breakin in.

Relax guys and girls. Engines do whirr and click and whine and howl. Never seen so much paranoia. Just go out and have fun!

You are screwing up a great experience with your imagination!

Yeah, I do think it is over-reacting to even say "something is wrong" based on your personal sense of the noise plus a tech's ear who hasn't listened to even ONE other '06 FJR.

And even if some of the numbers posted in this thread are correct, this board accounts for 25% of the FJR's in the wild. So multiply all reported tickers by four and be done with it (still a small number). Or do you really figure someone would register here but not post about his ticker?

As far as Yamaha not fixing my bike forever (should it tick every xx,xxx miles after five years), so what? How many of us keep bikes for ten years? I don't figure many of us do.
