I noticed Cee Baileys will have a screen out soon for the 2006 FJR. Who’s bike did they use for the model? A member here? If so can we get an evaluation. Does anyone else already have an aftermarket screen on their bike?

TIA,

Mike

National Cycle will have their VStream out for the 06 supposedly end of june...Mark Lawrence at CalSci will have his ready for sale..supposedly end of May....although I might be tempted to try the VStream also...pretty good report on it.

WHOEVER has one first will get my order! The stock shield is beating the crap out of me...

They are supposed to be sending me a unit to shoot photos of and write a report on. Last I heard, they hadn't finished the mold yet, but were supposed to get me one this week.

I'll keep you posted. Once I get it I will put photos of it on my site and start testing.

I sent an e-mail to Cee Baileys and asked about head light guards.

I received a reply that they would be ready about the same time and the "web guy" would be posting them later today.

I just checked their web site and they are taking pre orders for the 06 shield as of this moment...4:30 EST. They will be shipped starting the 22nd on a first come first served basis.

They put the products on the web this afternoon. I hope to have photos and initial test reports done in a week or two.

Can any current V stream owners give me some feedback. I like a quiet ride but i dont want to look through the shield. I'm only 5'6, but i dont look though my current stock shield when its adjusted to it highest position. I'm very interested in the V stream for my 06, but from some of the pictures posted for the previous years bikes, it looks like its 3-4 inches taller that stock.

From what i can tell, the total adjustment thats available on the 06 is approximately 5 inches in height. I wouldnt mind going an extra 2 inches up. but 3 or 4 inches is going to be too much. Any ideas how much higher the v stream is from the stock shield? i've seen one guys pics of his v stream and it looks huge. He claims he's 5'5 and he looked like he was looking through the screen in it lowest position. Can anyone on the forum enlighten me or is it too early to tell whats coming out of the the v stream factory for the 06.

The other question deals with the new air management system. The 06 was designed to reduce backpressure from the windshield. Does that mean that the aftermarket windshields dont need the cut outs at the bottom. CAl Sci has the cutouts, Cee baileys dont. you guys with the cee baileys getting alot of backpressure on your 06's. I'll be buying one of those two if the V stream is more that 2 inches higher than stock.

the only way i can get a reduction in noise and buffetting out of my stock screen is to have it in the full up position. I'm very curious as to what would happen to all that noise if i just replaced the screen with a cee bailey or Cal Sci of the same height as stock(but wider width).

Thanx

I was up at Americade this past weekend. I drove the FJR through the rain going there and through horrible crosswinds coming back. I guess you can say I'm no longer a virgin. That was the furthest ride ever for this very newbie rider. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. I was pleased to see a few FJRs being used to demo products at the manufacturer and distributer booths. I went over to National Cycle and sat on an FJR (silver) from a few years ago. It had the v-stream hooked up to it. I'm 5'9" with an 32" inseam...I guess I sit fairly low. With the v-stream in its full up position, I was looking right through it. I didn't love that idea but couldn't I just not raise it all the way? It doesn't have holes like cal-sci. It's made of a stronger material than cal-sci (supposedly). Cal -sci uses acrylic and the vstream is polycarbonate I think. Does anyone know the difference here? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Maywanna,

i'm most interested in how much site clearance (above the shield) you had with it in its lowest position.

Can you elaborate
