Just spent the weekend replacing the cam chain tensioner, cam chain. and setting the valves on the old girl. I pulled the center stand as it was broken at the weld prior to my purchasing it last fall. I was wondering if anyone has had one re welded and if so had they encountered any problems since?

On the 04 & 05 The mama Yamaha has reinforced the Center Stand.

On the most 03 the Center Stands they have broken.

Buy one 04 or 05 from ebay and forget this problem for ever..!

Here are some,buy only from a 04 or 05..Not from a 03.

Gen 2s will fit also. Extrememarine's center stand from his totaled FJR lives on on my 03.

I had a brace added to my 2003 years ago and use my centre stand all the time. No issues.

It now looks very similar to the 2004 and newer.

Thanks for the info I will have a brace welded to the stand and that should do the trick. Appreciate all the replies as the more information and options the better.

Nice job on that rewelded center stand. I thought about fixing my broken one, but since I got Wayne's 09 stand gratis, I went that way.

Thanks griff free is always good which is why I decided to weld it with the brace. By the time i bought one one line with shipping I was looking at around $100.00 . Now if only the snow would stop and melting start I would be a happy camper. We got about 15 cm or about 3 inches for my American friends last night. I have a hunch Canadian FJR is getting it now or what is left of it. No need to thank me Canadian .

Hey Silver Hawk, I've been noticing a few new faces popping up in the area..... we'll have to have a little FJR gathering this spring.......

Hey RaYzerman19 hope the morning finds you well and your all shoveled out. Yes a gathering would be a good thing ! It would be great to meet some of the other local members.

Okay first off is somehow refreshing to be new at something at my age. Second at the risk of showing how new what is SEOR and is that like bringing the lambs to the slaughter ?

It's a gathering of old farts who barely know how to ride their FJR's. Some even get flat tires. The roads in SE Ohio are very boring flat and straight, so the old farts aren't too challenged...... you need to know how to tell lies and drink beer at the parking lot social......... Perhaps Joe or Wheatie could chime in. Anyway, I am taking the long way (solo) to get there via PA, VA, NC, maybe KY, WV. There are a couple of other Canadian Invasion Forces folks going........

Thanks Ray for the info...... I will keep this date and event in mind. I ran down to Morgantown last summer on my 650 Seca for a weekend of fun in the mountains this looks to be about the same distance .
