When the Trophy came out, I looked at it at the bike show and it was veto'd on the spot by my daughters.

But you don't have to look at it when you are riding it....looks don't matter much to me (but then I ride an 1150 GSA). I'd draw the line at a Gen 1 Multistrada (or any Pierre Terblanche Ducati), though....

 
I've also heard that they are going to stop production of the Trophy. They have recently dropped prices considerably and there are 2017s at dealers priced at $14.5K.. I agree on the balance of sport vs. touring when comparing the FJR to a Trophy. Just about everyone that buys an FJR probably spends another $700 - $1000 converting it more towards touring. Bar risers and a seat are almost a must have to make the FJR comfortable.

Two of the most comfortable bikes I've set on are the Trophy and R1200RT. The Super Tenere is also out of the box comfortable with more leg room and an upright seating position if that is what you're looking for.
