I was going to leave today but decided to take my time getting prepped and will leave early tomorrow. It's a 900 km ride the way I have it planned out so we will see how it goes.

Here's the SPOT link ...

SE Ohio & EOM

I tossed together a SpotWalla page so the internet weirdo's can follow along.

New plan. Teenager will be home to watch youngest tomorrow; the boss just cleared new flight plan. I'll depart tomorrow (Saturday) around 3-4pm. ETA to Caldwell is 8-9p. If I have daylight, I'm going to play on the way in. Semper Gumby (always flexible).

That's my plan as well; if garmin shows me missing the KSU time, then I'll fall in at point 4 and run until I catch the group at a rest / fuel stop. 0300 reveille with a 0315 departure puts me in Caldwell at 0745 accounting for one fuel / rest stop in 300 miles. I'll have a SPOT tracker running as well, link to follow as soon as I figure it out; if the Geek can do it, I'm sure it can't be that complicated...

**Edit ** Thanks, geek. Spotwalla link.

I have the route, and if for some reason I'm running late, don't wait for me, I'll try to sync up at points 8/19 and start riding backwards to meet y'all.

1. Create an account over at SpotWalla. It's free.

2. Create a trip with a start date & time and end date & time. The steps are pretty straight-forward.

3. Copy and paste the link.

See ya soon!

Mounted some new rubber on the front end today, the old BT023 had 12k miles on it. I'll see you all in Caldwell tomorrow night.

The day did not start well as the battery was down when I went to start the bike at 5 AM. I put the trickle charger on it for 1/2 hour but that didn't get me anywhere so I rummaged through all the junk in the garage and found my jumper cables. I hooked up the bike to the SUV and got the bike running but it put me an hour behind my original plan.

Most of the ride was fairly unadventful except for two items. When o crossed over into Penn State from New York, Mr Zumo lost his mind and sent me around a 1/2 loop I kind of thought I was having degas by. The second item was just as I was getting into Ohio and was cruising along at a nice pace I saw a police cruiser in the mirrors with the lights flashing. The last speed limit sign I saw was for 35 mph and I was running 105 kph (65 mph). Oops !!!

As I slowed down and was about to pull over the cruiser went on by and was apparently on another call. I'm thinking I just used up my mulligan for this trip

Sooze and I headed out after lunch and rode a bit with PhilJet09 and made it home safe and sound.

To everyone else headed to their respective homes: ride safe!

To you yahoos who are continuing on to EOM: see ya Friday.

We had a terrific time with friends old and new.
