Made it home about 10 mins ago.

Made it home about 7:30 after an hour delay on the turnpike...I knew I should have taken a different route.

Thanks for organizing this for us wheaton, it was a great day! It was nice meeting you all this weekend, I can't wait to do it again.

Wheaton thank you for putting that together. What a good time. And yes you make a great rabbit. Hope SLK50 made it home OK. That will no doubt hurt in the AM. Hope all travel safe and see you in the spring.

When o crossed over into Penn State from New York, Mr Zumo lost his mind and sent me around a 1/2 loop I kind of thought I was having degas by.
I saw that on your tracker this morning and I just want to point out, I wasn't there, I wasn't leading and I wasn't even in the same country! He can blame his GPS all he wants. I know the truth.

Yeah Wheaty, what he said. I forgot to thank you for setting it up. I owe you a beer or shot of knob creek. Next time we get together, count on it :)

Looking forward to a spring ride!

Great ride Wheaton! Thanks for all your efforts.

I'm home now; 900+ miles in 2 days. Tires are ready for EOM now. We'll see you in Lewisburg Tuesday night.

Wayne aka sloopoke

Mark,

Thanks for putting together another great Ramble route :yahoo: It was great to see everyone, the weather was perfect Saturday and Sunday.

I made it home riding up the slab with "Gray Ray" & "Flowback" in record time...1 1/2 hrs. 714 miles of great riding for the 2 days. See you at EOM Thursday

Mark,

Thanks so much for putting this together. I had a great time trying to keep up with you and Wayne on 78 back to the motel. I don't know if eather of you had a chance to look at your spedos but you were taking 45MPH turns at 80 to 85 MPH the straights were 90 to 100. I tried to keep up for a little while but finally gave up. I'll be expecting lessons this weekend

Gray Ray

Moto Series #65

Thanks from me also Mark. It was well worth the trip for the company and some great riding. Riding that continued through today. I made it home at 1800. I totaled 1156 miles in three days. My back tire is done and the bike looks trashed from all that road grime. I am glad the roads dried out for us. I will be interested to hear how you guys fared for the rest of the day after I split. Have a great time at EOM.

Thanks for arranging this ride Mark. It was an excellent turn out.

It was nice to meet and ride with another handful of responsible sport touring riders.

If anyone is interested in another ride down here, feel free to PM me to see if I'm open. I love riding down here and don't mind showning off these great roads.

The Zumo was acting up so I said to myself, "What would Bungie do?" and then proceeded to go in the wrong direction.

Another awesome get together orchestrated by Wheatie! Thanks for a great time.

I decided to take a couple more days off and followed wheaton, griff, yamafitter, to Elkins, WV (Intech turned for home a little before Elkins). But I had to turn back the next day because of stupid work.

Hello everyone. I thought I would check in and update everybody.

First, A heartfelt thanks to everyone for their help, especially

extracting my bike from the ditch.

Second, a special thank you goes out Wayne ( extememarine )

who accompanied me back to my motel, just in case. Bravo!

Lastly, my condition. Post get-off I wasn't feeling too bad

but decided to call it a day. Went back to my motel room, popped

some IB, put my feet up and tried to relax.

Monday morning I was a little sore so I decided to wait one more day

before departing. By Monday afternoon the real pain had started so

I decided to pull the plug on my trip and return home on Tuesday.

But by Monday evening the pain intensified to the point I knew

I wouldn't be able to ride so I had my son come and get me.

He rode the bike ( which was fine save some cracked plastic bits. )

and I drove the van.

I was pretty miserable by the time we got home so I went for X-Rays

right away. Turns out I broke a rib ( fifth ) in two places ( front and

back ). All things considered I got away pretty easy: I was body-slammed

onto my right side at about 30 MPH.

I'll be on pain meds for a while and taking it easy for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

Once again thanks to everyone who helped, and there were so many willing,

I assure you even the smallest gestures didn't go unnoticed. ( Like the

post-crash test ride of my bike, or checking it for fluid leaks before

I rode off. ) Thanks to each and everyone of you.

And one more thing: doesn't look like I'll be at EOM after all.

I was really looking forward to EOM as it was to be the final stop of

a 12 day trip. Oh well, so much for planning. Maybe next year?

Ride safe and be careful.

Robert

Hello everyone. I thought I would check in and update everybody.
I kinda wondered if there would be something going on in there.

Good job listening to your body and admitting that riding was not a good idea. Not all of are willing / able to do that.

Rest easy and heal up. Then we'll see you on the road...

Hello everyone. I thought I would check in and update everybody.

Thank you for posting this update, I've been wondering how you were feeling. I've broken ribs before, it hurts like a son-of-a-gun. Glad it isn't anything worse and that you're on the mend. Take care.

Yup what he said. Been thinking of you and glad it was not any worse.. How about that FJR is yours made of steel or what? My hat is off for calling in the family!

Robert,

Glad to hear that it is nothing too serious and you are on the mend. It's too bad it put a damper on the trip, but there will be more. Take the time to heal and you can get back out there.

Bob

Robert,

Thanks for the update; I'm a little behind on my reading - we just got home from KY.

I hope that rib heals quickly, because I know there's no fun in fractured ribs at all.

And you are welcome; I could not imagine any other path to take than to make sure you got back to the hotel safely. As riders, it is what should be the accepted standard in a situation like that; I my mind, there was no other option.

Let us know how you're doing, and I'll be in touch because I have your EOM shirt to send...

Robert,

I'm glad you used your better judgement and waited and listened to see how your body would react. I wish that you have quick healing...I know it takes a little while - from personal experience.

I just got back from the combined Ramble/EOM trip...so this was the first chance I could get to wish you well.

To everyone else, thanks again for meeting me in SE Ohio. Except for Robert's get off, it was an awesome experience...getting to meet new friends...and talk to the others again before the end of season hits.

Until next time, be safe!
