I feel very lucky, Raven Black is my favorite color on the FJR even before I bought my '08. I am ok with no change because I really like the lines of this model and now my '08 is still current. And the bugs have been worked out.

I hear ya on that one! I only like the FJ in black and so much so that after putting 24,000 kms (15,000 miles) in my first season owning one, I'm considering going out and grabbing a new 09 while I still can and storing it for when I wear out the one I have in a couple of years.

Oh, I get it, your avatar shows a helmetless one. You must be a reformed HD rider. These things don't wear out in a couple of years. No new gen final drives to blow up, no kpass to leave you stranded. No ugly 20 year old plastics..

Mine has over a 100K on it in the last 3 years and still will power lift the front wheel and burns no oil.

Personally, I want the them to go back to the Gen 1 design for the Gen 3's. Otherwise I won't be buying a Gen 2 to replace this one. I'm thinking Triumph XC800. Then again, Kim's BMW1000RR has grown on me. But I don't have the skill nor the self control to keep from flinging myself off the planet with that one.

Sadly the Yamaha folks put as much effort into upgrading the bike we love as they did in spell checking the website. The bike is "the pinnacle of supersport touring" not the pinnicle!!

I plan on going to Biketoberfest next week in Daytona, and Yamaha is giving demo rides. I'll be in line for the FJR. Wonder if they will have the 2012 ready for a ride, or if it will be the Silver '11 model? If it's a Cobalt Blue '12, I may take a wrong turn and get lost.

I'll take the camera just in case...
