Ray and I rode 26 and 260 on Sun. Both are in good condition some gravel, mostly in the right handers.

Rt. 26 South of Rt. 148 to Rt. 78 is really tricky and should be ridden with caution a lot of the turns are not marked and the ones that are, are over rated. If the turn says 35 do not take treat it like a normal 35 M.P.H. turn.

Other than that these are both great roads.

Can't wait for May.

P.S.

Ray bailed on me so I could use a roomie Fri. Sat. Sun.

Thanks for the report Ray. :clapping:

Good luck with the roomie...

Oh, by the way ,

I bought 5 beer steins for trophys for the slow ride contest Sat. night. Two groups, one for single riders one for two-ups.

Practice up your skills.

Bummer Steve, If I'd planned this better we could have taken the extra day and we could have ridden down together.
Ryan and Peter?

You know, you guys could manage to come down with the 24hr flu on the Friday :D

I plan on doing a straight shot right down from Sudbury. I just have my fingers crossed it's not snowing the morning I leave.

Wow, prizes...Ray's shelling out dough for the group. Make sure someone buys him a beer.

Group D?

Bikergeek?

Wheat Dog, are you SURE that doesn't stand for dicks?

'Cause it would seem...

.... that it should ...stand for dicks.
Ahem.

:finger:

Sounds like you're vying for fencer's "people person" status.

Can 3 more join the ramble? Myself and 2 riding buddies are beginning a week of touring on the 12th. Nobody has the Friday booked off so we could be down there Saturday afternoon and go riding on Sunday.

Hey Mike, it would be great to see you again. Sure you can come down...I might have to put all the Canadiens in a "special" group.

Are your two buddies the same as were at EOM last fall? If so, I believe they've already tasted some of this area right? What are your buddie's names and what do they ride? Just for the list.

I'll have some official sharpie marker and masking tape for name tags...because that's the way we roll in SE Ohio. :D

Yeah it's Peter(Ninja) and Ryan(Gixer) from EOM. We are all looking forward to this. Thanks again Mark.

Looks like it's official. I'm bowing out of the camping weekend and doing the Ramble instead.
Now here is something that should prove interesting: compare the route that Wheaton whips up, and overlay Bungie's GPS tracks.

Glad you're coming down! We'll wave at you the first time you drive by the hotel.

You should come to Bust's this weekend for Tech Day. You know - start working on your hangover early, like me!

:friends: :****:

I'mma take you to that spot where the 'dogfaced person' lives on 26. Knock on the door, then leave you there.

Well that's pretty much a given.

Nah, the only person allowed to fock up my bike is me. Saves a lot of digging and lugging of lime.

Boy I would like to attend this Ohio Ramble...I tried but just cant swing it. I know you'll have a blast...I'm praying/crossing fingers for perfect weather. :assassin:

Sorry you can't make it petey. I'm glad I didn't know you were trying to make it and get my hopes up. This Ramble was made for you. :yahoo:

Maybe next time...

Saturday's east loop is finalized. I have GPX/GDB files for the east loop.

Sunday's west loop is getting tweaked due to local conditions...I will have that final loop posted in the the next couple of days.
Ok, now to figure what a GPX file is and how to load it.

Abercrombie,

I'll have turnsheets for both days if you don't have a gps. Those should be worked with maps that we wil have posted up in this thread for you to look over the route with.

If you have a gps, I will have a GPX file that you can use to make your own GDB file while following along the maps posted. I will eventually have a gdb to load into my 2720. (Yes, I finally have a gps)
I have a GPS. I was just poking fun at my electronical ineptitude. I didn"t have any luck last year loading the CFO routes at the last minute but ended up having to lead a group with a borrowed GPS.

.. I know your still tweaking the routes Wheatness, but how are you going to distribute them? I was planning on travelling light for this trip (no netbook).

The turnsheets for both routes are done, the S&T files are done, the MS Paint bitmaps are done, both route gpx files are done, the GDB file for the east loop is done, I am now doing the GDB file for the west loop.

I plan on posting up the final turnsheets and map pictures on this thread, and will email...or have someone email the gpx/gdb files for those that have gps devices.

Final route maps and turn directions for both days are posted in post #1.

GO THERE FOR INFORMATION.

I am changing the groups around...they are getting too big. I am adding a group and moving people around.

Please PM me your email addy if you want files to load into your GPS.

Right now I have gpx files of both loops, and have a gdb file of Saturday's east loop. I don't have the gdb constructed yet of Sunday's west loop, but if you are in a hurry you could construct one yourself from the gpx file and the maps and turn directions posted in Post #1.

So far, I only have email addies from the following riders...

John d

Moosehead

BikerGeek

gray ray

Bungie

AbercrombieFJR

PhilJet09

DesignFlaw06

As ALWAYS...the maps and turn directions are the OFFICIAL Ramble route. GPS files may or may not be official or correct as they vary, depending on YOUR gps preferences. Therefore, make sure your gps file is checked against the official route details listed in POST #1.
