Any clue to a check point in northern Ca.? If any assistance needed there might be able to help out. P.M.
The specific location hasn't been released yet. When they do--it will be here. Or to Premier members probably a bit before that.
I will be at this checkpoint (spectating - gofer'ing if needed, you know go fer this, go fer that) wherever in NorCal it would be. Is there going to be an ABM thread this year as well?

Looks like this is in my back yard this year since I'm now living in Pittsburgh. I should be able to make it over the the start/finish area, and it's always amazing to follow the progress of the rally.
Yes, my back yard also. will try to make one of the events.

Some us Pacific Northwet folks were at the finish in Spokane, WA and the start two years later in Seattle, WA.

They both were a blast. Amazing, intriguing, interesting and that's just the riders.

Fun wasn't it? ;)

Gonna be a bit harder on PNW people this particular trip.....us '13 riders are gearing up for a lengthy commute to the Start/Finish line. BIODSL, myself, and a Tenere rider are heading out together.

Matt are you working or riding the Iron Butt. How about Paul and Tenere?

All 3 riding the event.....and (cough) trailering to the start because of some very (cough) legitmate reasons. Haven't decided yet what day we'll be arriving, but probably Friday or so. Paul won an event at the National event last year and gets a FREE entry. The Tenere rider completed a special leg in the 2011 Utah 1088 and received a no-draw option...he'll be an IBR rookie.

So who all from the forum is in the big dance? Brick? KarstenP? Colin24? (naturally I name all the Canadians).

Colin & Perry but I don't think that Peter is playing this year.

I'll throw this out there - if anyone needs some assistance on the 30th or the 4th don't be shy. It would be a privilege to help out.

PM me for contact info if you like.

Yamafitter and I had lunch with Peter a couple of weeks after the big dance 2 years ago in Parry Sound. From the way he tells it, he was well beyond tired trying to find the finish. Said the GPS was squawking at him and he just continued along his merry way, not realizing the GPS was telling him to turn into the hotel.

Well you know I'll be rooting for Perry and Colin!

TRAILERING!!

So that's: Colin, Perry, Iggy, Tony, me. . . I'm forgetting somebody. . .

I have to go install the backup to the backup to the assistant GPS.

I have to admit...it kinda strikes me as sacrilegious. But arriving at the with the bike ready to go (no oil to change, no tires to mount) has it attractions. Plus I get to spend 40 hours straight in Iggy's awesomeness. How can you say no to that?

Yeah it would be a lot nicer if either the start or finish was closer. When you guys arriving?
I'm thinking Monday morning about 7 a.m. Should be enough time to check in and make it to the riders meeting....

We haven't decided quite yet. My guess is Thursday or Friday.

Nothing wrong with trailering that distance for the big dance.

There's enough saddle time as is.

...and the CBA welcomes you! :)
