Hopefully I won't make stupid errors like that in my rally paperwork ;)

Everything's prepped, which is a good thing since I've been out of the country ever since Memorial Day. Typing this from the United lounge in Norita, Japan.

There is going to be a lot of very strong FJR competitors on the starting line. Hopefully there will be enough room on the podium for all of you.

Specter, how was Japan? I lived there for 5 years back in the early 1980's and got to ride from top to bottom. It was a cool place to ride.

Spec,

I live in Baltimore - probably 3 or 4 hours from the start/finish. If you decide you don't want to ride home after the rally - or just want to chill an extra day and then take a break from the ride, you are most welcome to stash your bike in my garage. I live real close to the BWI airport with plentiful flights. You can fly home from BWI and return at your leisure to collect your bike and ride home. Help to and from airport and a place to crash for a night included. PM me if you might be interested.

Good luck!

I guess it was last year with state capitols as checkpoints, I was out of town or would certainly rode up from home Nawlins' to Baton Rouge to hand at the capitol steps.

Maybe this year it will come within 100mi of me...

A month until the west coast checkpoint. Any word yet as to the location (in NorCal?)?
Check this thread. As it's posted by the RM...I think it's the "official" announcement.
Thanks for that Iggy -- I've been looking all over for that info. But SHI - ITE, while the west coast checkpoint is conveniently nearby for me (almost next door for another forumite), the date coincides with my first night in the wilderness on another adventure. Suspect I'll be following the first half of the rally via the usual FJRforum coverage this year (will have to catch up later for the action after the WC checkpoint and final results).
