2013 Throttle response compared to Gen 2

I am seriously considering upgrading my '08 to a '14 ES.

For those of you that have ridden both a Gen 2 and Gen 3, how would you compare the throttle response of the Gen 2 to the Gen 3? Is it closer to touring mode or sport mode? Or somewhere in between?

The throttle response on my 08 feels very similar to the '13 touring mode.

I guess this shows just how much work Yamaha did to address the complaints of the FI over the years. Their is a huge difference between my 04 to my 13 in touring mode. The 04 is a nearly a dead ringer for the 13 in Sport Mode.

Kind of redundant don't you think. Between 'Touring Mode' and the Traction Control, what more would you need?

I agree. I like having the "S" & "T" modes, but I'm glad they didn't go nuts and add "rain," "gravel," "2-up," "tailwind," and "fog" modes.

Touring mode is very smooth & progressive, kinda soft. Sport mode is much snappier but I wouldn't describe it as off-on.

I would say partly true since the off-on throttle snatch was pretty much gone in the 08 model....at least it has never been noticeable on my 08.
