3,000 rpm at an indicated 60 mph. Sorry, no gps mounted yet so that's the best I can do.
3,400 rpm at 70 mph. 3,900 rpm at 80 mph. This is indicated speed from the stock speedo. I still haven't mount a gps......
I showed 3200 RPM @ 65 mph via GPS on today's ride. Additionally my speedometer was consistently reading 2 mph faster than the GPS.
Same speedo error that my '15 has. Thanks for the numbers y'all...4K at 80 would be a nice cruise speed!

Per mcatrophy's chart, multiply rpm (x1000) by 20.72 and that will tell you the speed you should see. E.g., 3.000x20.72 = 62.2 mph @ 3000 rpm, 3.200x20.72 = 66.3 mph, 4x2072 = 82.9 mph, etc. Of course that excludes speedo error. The good news is the speedo error is much smaller than in the past (GenII).

Also with an analog tach, it's hard to say what the exact RPMs are while you're riding down the road at 65 mph. This is clearly subject to human error (me). As you say, the chart is the real answer.

Just the parallax factor alone is enough to make the analog readings wrong. Old school needle movement multimeters had a mirror on the number scales to (mostly) correct for this error. The needles on the FJRs meter assembly are actually servo driven so they should be pretty accurate.

It is. The shipper and I agreed to meet there to make the transfer. I live on a steep hill with a tight turn around. Made things easier.

I'm from the dark side. I currently ride a '12 BMW R120RT. This is my second RT. I ride 10k-15k miles per year. Mostly longer distance touring. One of the riders in my small riding group has an FJR and loves it. He suggested that I visit this site for information. I have sat on FJR's in the past and always thought that the frame size wa a little too small for my 6'2" 260 lb frame. And that they were a little too sport bikeish for me as far as the riding position is concerned. But I'm intrigued by what im reading regarding the upgrades to the '16 RT. Especially the 6 speed gearbox. And I know that there are much less reliability issues with the FJR than my RT.

My questions are as follows. Are there enough aftermarket items available for the FJR to make the bike fit me? Things like peg lowering kits, pull back risers, longer foot brake arms and shifter arms, or at least adjustability, taller windshields, etc? In general, is it possible to make the bike less of a sport bike riding position.

It appears all the Genll and lll's have the same 2mph fast speedo. For the Genlll1/2 owners, you can bring the speedo to true reading if you move up to a 190/55 rear tire. It should also add 1.75 more miles to the life of your engine.

Huh?

The Gen II has been the worst of the lot when it comes to speedo error. More like 5 mph in the upper highway cruising range. The Gen III was a marked improvement. Probably having to due with the addition of cruise control?

Mine is opposite, my Gen 3 is significantly worse than either of my my Gen 2's. I don't sweat over it, I know the errors and ride to them.

So my speedo says 74, I know I'm going 70. Works for me, not got any tickets (yet).

Switching to kph, I have a similar error, but I've only tried that briefly.

There's a good aftermarket selection of items you're looking for except I'm not aware of any aftermarket shifter or brake arms but the stock items are adjustable. For leg room you can put the seat in the upper position, and going with an after market seat like Lamm or Russell can give a little more height.

Still no word on mine. Ordered 2/17/2016.
Ordered mine on the 16th. Stopped by my dealer on my way home, he said he hadn't heard anything, then he made a phone call and found out it was just released today.
