I am setting up a new 2018 FJR and I have a set of Clearwater AUX lights from my previous motorcycle and I am trying to find out where and which is the high beam hot wire to tap into to trip the AUX lights to full power when I turn on the high beam. Any one here know which is the correct wire?

TIA!

The Clearwater website gives a good set of instructions for various FJR models.  For the Gen III, I think there is a jumper plug that gets inserted.  Have a look at the following (for Kristas).  I assume it the same for other types or you can get the specific file from their website.

Hi Ross, thanks for the info. I do not have the FJR specific wiring kit form Clearwater , I have the universal wiring kit. So I am just trying to find the high beam hot wire for the trigger.

Sorry, can't help you on Gen III/IV wiring.

Clearwater likely wants too much for the wiring kit but it would be the best solution.  I just realized that your 2018 has the LED headlights and I don't even know if Clearwater has a solution for your bike.  Might be worth giving them a call or an email.  I have found to be very responsive and they may have something in the works.

I reached out to Clearwater and I just may have to buy the FJR specific wiring kit.

So, you decided on an FJR?  Seems to me I read about you having an accident on your Wing earlier this year.  Hope you are doing well.  Enjoy the new bike!

Ross,

I had an accident on my GSA after the IBR on my ride home.

Yes, I decided on a FJR to see what I have been missing all these years.

I had not realized that you had switched from the big white Goldwing to a GSA.

I read about your accident on the Motorcycle Tourers forum - hope it won't be too long before you are ready to do some serious riding!

I think you will thoroughly enjoy the FJR.
