This is where I always chime in to remind everyone that when having windshield discussions you have to consider if someone is commenting on Gen-I or Gen-II. I have owned both Gens with both stock and several different aftermarket shields. IMO there is no way to compare shield performance across Gen-I and Gen-II.
I totally agree with Keithaba's comments that a CB with flip creates massive turbulence on a Gen-I. The same design on a Gen-II works extremely well.
For the best shield I ever owned/ran on Gen-I, PM LuvToRide(Heidi) and make her trace the cutouts made on the CB with flip. Neither Rider nor Passenger ever complained of any buffeting once I refined the cutouts. And this is strictly opinion, but it was not so FUgly as some of the barn doors I've seen on Gen-I bikes.
