HEADS-UP bargain deal -- thru tomorrow (Super-bowl Sunday), for its members, Costco.com has the

PANASONIC Viera TH-50PE700U PLASMA HDTV on sale for $1999.99. If you go to the Costco store, you have to have the $300 coupon that they sent out a month ago, but that discount is automatic on the website. Picked mine up yesterday. Today, I'm looking for a stand/entertainment center to put my stereo system in and the new TV on.

Highly rated, 50 inch, 1080p, 2 yr warranty.

The Panny's are great Plasmas. One of our members here (Flight Jacket Required aka Mike here in Napa) just got this panel. Looks great.

Adam Carolla recommends putting it in the wall. I haven't researched it, but it sounds cool. I do know you have to put a vent above it to let the heat out of the wall, but since I don't plan to own one anytime soon, I have a hard time caring.

If anyone figures it out and puts it in the wall, I nominate it for a sticky and want pics, pics and more pics! That would be a cool household mod!

Another good advantage is, that you (or your SO) can hang a piece of artwork over it when not watching, and the TV disappears.

I'll look into the actual details of it....

Kinda complicates the hooking of cables doesn't it? Most plasma manufactures specify a minimum distance from the plasma to the surrounding area for cooling purposes.
