I give to the local and state police and they intern send me these wonderful little sticky decals that come with a disclaimer that says I am not entitled to any special treatment blah blah blah.

I have a pile of these things from the sheriff and troopers that I have never "decorated" my autos.

So the question is. Should I choose to don one on my bike and I am pulled over for a violation, do they help at all? I know it would depend on the violation and my attitude at the time you stop me. Apples to apples same violation - same charm school attitude - sticker vs no sticker help yes or no? for the sake of arguement say 85-90 in a 70 the most likely pullover I'll get (or just 15-20 over in any zone).

And please lets NOT turn this into a cop-bashing, revenue generating thread - K.

This is one of those, "It couldn't hurt" items.

I have never sought out restaurants that display the "I support the Portland Police" stickers, but I have returned to them, in part, because of it.

But you are right, attitude will carry more weight.

EDIT: I just noticed you are in Alabama. Those stickers may actually carry more weight than it would in the Pacific NW.

I was given a sticker by a State Trooper who was a friend of mine, after my business donated to the State Police. I figured what the hell, and put it on my car. Sure as hell, I got pulled over, and the State Trooper asked where I got the sticker. I told him, we talked about how I knew a few Troopers through work, and then he told my to have a nice night. NO warning, NO can I see you DL, NO don't do it again. I was amazed. Like I said, it can't hurt.
