Jasen, here's the dealio....we DON'T sell them because they run right to begin with, even with their alleged heat problems, the VERY rare "ticker" issue and that blasted "spider" problem.....oh, wait, that last one was a Gen II issue, wasn't it??? :finger:

I've heard those GenI's run even better after they've had a replacement motor thrown in. So there!! https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/****.gif

Too true...but ONLY if you replace 'em with ANOTHER Gen I motor.

So, someone is advertising they can give your bike smoother acceleration and better fuel economy??? I have the winning powerball ticket that I'll sell you for $5.
Just to it's clear and fair, it's was Motorcycle Consumer News to made this claim. Quoting the article as published:

"Approximately 1800 miles were covered in each condition. Average gas mileage in stock condition was 48.3 mpg. With the Booster Plug installed, 52.7 mpg was achieved, and the Accelerator Module recorded 53.5 mpg."
based onthose numbers, they mean the Euro version of MCN and not the ad-free MCNews in the US. Correct?
I't from the ad-free MCNews, US version..My friend subscribes to it and as such, gets the digital version. He always sends me the URL to the digital version. I extracted that portion of it to share on this thread.
dang... to get those numbers they must not have been in rally mode.

OK. Looks like Failure To Launch is gonna be the right description for this idea. Maybe I will make the purchase after the 1st of the year. If so, I will report the results here so that those who have interest (but are risk adverse

) can judge the results.

Merry Christmas everybody!!

Curious in it myself. I have no throttle issues per se but wouldn't mind a bit more throttle response & a few more MPG's.

The test bike for MCN was a F650GS... tying a rock to that bike would improve it. Preferably a very large one, right before you pushed it into a deep lake.

To the OP, what is it that you are attempting to 'fix'? Or that bothers you to the point where this product sounds appealing?

First, I read the same article in MCN. I also found many other threads on other forums all reporting positive results in eliminating the snatchy throttle problem on other fuel injected bikes ( Gen II FJR isn't the only bike with the problem). Second, to Ignacio and Forum Administrators, I did a search of the Forum for " Accelerator Module" and DID NOT get back this thread as a result, perhaps a problem with the "Search" function.

As for the FJR, I found only one Feedback on the manufacturers website from someone in France indicating a positive result on his FJR.

At the current exchange rate, the unit costs $102 USD. If the Euro decreases in value, it gets cheaper. They are charging a ridiculous amount for shipping in light of stuff I buy from China that ships free.

Anyway, bottom line is that nobody here has tried it yet...all I need to know at this point.

Yep, known issue. Best to search via google using the site:fjrforum.com option. Still not showing this thread for me but it might not be that high in their dbs yet.

Does this work with the superior 2003 model? Also does it work with a power commander on board?
If you have a power commander why on earth would you want one of these bogus things?
While, of course your right that if you had a power commander that you wouldn't want want of these, on the other hand for those of us that have the low throttle sensitive 2007 and 2008's this may solve the issue at one-third the cost. I think it's too soon to call it "bogus", unless you totally disregard Motorcycle Consumer News. Let's see if the OP (or someone else) purchases one and reports results before we classify it as bogus.

It is bogus because this device, and others like it, indiscriminately alter the fueling across the entire fuel map by altering one of the sensors' feedback to the ECU. I don't care if it makes it feel better, it is still bogus.

A Power Commander allows you to adjust the fueling (by both adding and subtracting it) only where it is needed in the fuel map (rpm x throttle).

And even the PC does not actually solve the root cause of the problem of jerky off to on throttle response, which is the fuel cut on throttle over run by the ECU. All of these "fixes" merely soften the symptoms by over-fueling the on throttle transition.

But, I guess if it was written in MCN, it must be true...

Not saying that because it was written by MCN that it must be true, only that MCN is generally considered a reputable source and since their review has been the only empirical data thus far and that is was a positive review, that it shouldn't be written off as bogus (yet).
