Nice photo work Tyler! Looking like you've done this kind of stuff before.

Sad news T, sorry to hear about the employment situation. Jill and I are sending good thoughts your way...keep up the great attitude and another opportunity will come up before you know it!

Looking forward to following what will be another most excellent RR!

I don't have enough likes for all of your lovely comments but know that each one of you has reached me and your thoughts and well wishes are very much appreciated... this forum has graced me with so many friendships it's really hard to quantify... but my heart is so very full at the moment...

Shit... I got something in my eye...

Okay... on with the show...

I had hoped to visit the Grand Tetons but there just wasn’t enough time as we wanted to get to our night’s destination, Island Park, in time to enjoy our surroundings and a soak in the hot tub... so we continued along 20... will have to put that on the “next time” list... a lot of straight roads ahead but still beautiful scenery....

Our destination for the night was Jared’s Wild Rose Resort outside of Yellowstone... we knew we were in the right place...

IMG_5260-XL.jpg

Some great scenery surrounded us...

This guy was enjoying the day...

Unfortunately, the hot tub was out of order but that didn’t stop Marie from enjoying a dip... ah, those French folks... I envied her freedom...

DSC_1208-XL.jpg

The sun set and we were gifted with a beautiful view of the surrounding lake...

DSC_1220-XL.jpg

We had a lovely dinner at the lodge restaurant and pretty much had the place to ourselves...

DSC_1231-XL.jpg

Back at our room, I had to school Marie on the correct pronunciation of geysers before we headed into Yellowstone... we laughed ourselves to sleep and looked forward to the next day’s adventures...

Loving the photos Tyler, they really help visualize your engaging story!

Again, an early start... it’s the best way to begin a moto journey... ahead of the crowds, quiet morning, the world is yours for the taking... and so we headed out toward Yellowstone... I had never visited this park due to lots of different reasons... but today would be different... and off we went... looking back at the lake around the Resort as we headed out...

IMG_5261-XL.jpg

And into the park we go...

DSC_1232-XL.jpg

I will say from my experience, go early in the day and you will have a lovely experience... the later it gets, the more people descend upon the park... but we were early and didn’t have a lot of the tourist experience at that time...

Ahhhh... serenity...

DSC_1235-XL.jpg

And then we came closer to the geysers and, like some sort of prehistoric setback, saw the steam rising first from far away... I was half expecting to see dinosaurs tromping out into the fields...

DSC_1243-XL.jpg

We came upon the first set of geysers and found ourselves a somewhat semi-legal parking space in the dirt between parking spaces... we took our chances that we wouldn’t get a ticket as we were tucked out of the way and that proved to be a good choice although I can’t recommend it to others in case they get a ticket...

We wandered out onto the walkway around the various geysers as the steam rose from the pools and amazing mineral-resourced colors surrounded them...

DSC_1269-XL.jpg

I couldn’t help but wonder what prompted a tourist to wander off the boardwalk to his death in the boiling waters... I stayed true to the walkways and am here to tell my story...

Fountain Paint Pots... again, I wondered if there weren’t dinosaurs about...

DSC_1261-XL.jpg

Red Spouter... I could feel the heat from where I stood... free facial!

DSC_1270-XL.jpg

Would you really want to step off that walkway? Me either!

DSC_1272-XL.jpg

Fountain Geyser...

DSC_1280-XL.jpg

Clepsydra Geyser...

DSC_1283-X2.jpg

Old Dead Stuff Geyser...

DSC_1285-XL.jpg

The tourists were starting to come in droves so we headed back to the bikes and started our way to one of the Big Mamas of tourist attractions... Old Faithful...

Stay tuned!

A buddy and I went through that intersection in Carey on our Wees in July, 3 weeks after you, and I thought about you, Tyler! Such a quiet crossroads for such a life-changing event!

As usual, your pictures are so nice. Perfectly framed, perfect color corrections, balance - just wonderful. That dusk shot of the cabin on the lake with the walkway leading to it is just stunning. I imagine my bike parked just left of that cabin with about 5 others. And all of us sitting on the porch with a Tottie.....

As Niehart noted above, been there and done that. And yes it was a nice place! Jared’s Wild Rose Resort on Henrys Lake.

Now get on with it girl, you got us boys sitting on the fence waiting. :)

There is always a lot of love and affection in your reports. Not just towards friends, old and new, but most things you touch or come in contact with, or gaze at, or hear or feel (except maybe the geysers - not sure how much you loved the smell). I think because as a person you are overflowing with it, so it spills out and on everything you do. Sometimes I wish I could see the world and everything in it, esp. the people, the way you do.

Tyler, excellent as always.

You need to team up with Mrs Big Sky and keep that deal going.

Pants, let's make some memories next June, m'kay? B)

This is not a motorcycle forum. This is a travel magazine written for me, by my friends (most of whom I haven't met yet).

Just wonderful. And thank you.
Jon, I look forward to the day we can be friends in person... thank you for following along! :)

Ah Sammy... you do see the world in your own unique and beautiful view... I love your photos and blog reports sharing your own vantage point, my friend... keep on keepin' on and sharing your view of the world because it's pretty fantastic.
