Tomorrow is a day off the bike in Seward. Hopefully we can get some computer time and put a few pictures up then.

The tour was amazing. The ships captain got us in very close to the surprise glacier which was calving. Caught a few of the splashes on camera.

Can you FedEx one of those icebergs to Atlanta? We'd really appreciate it.

Bear Glacier

Made it, someone paved it since we were here last in 2011

SeaAlaska was closed, seemed dead...this sign was still there

IMG_0093_zpsuic7oksk.jpg

No huddy bear to be found...the halibut and chips made us stay anyway

This is what we have to do in the evenings...laptop pictured is now an official casualty of the trip. Not the last.

Gary, the owner of SeaAlaska passed in 2012. Last time I was there (2013) his widow was struggling to keep things open; guess it did not work out for her.

Best not trip on all those cords BReamer.

Clear day in Hyder...beautiful scenery especially with the sun shining!

Bear Glacier on the way out the next morning

IMG_0097_zps8c1f6k3k.jpg

This is the parking lot of the Bell 2 lodge...a must gas stop. Heli-skiing happens here.

20160528_093038_zps6dyx1cgm.jpg

The next stop along the Cassiar...

As Pterodactyl said, you can turn left and find gas right away...we chose this since we will be in Watson Lake later on

Along the road from Nugget City on to Teslin

Camping in Teslin...just walk into a complete strangers house to get firewood This is a decent lakeside camp spot though you can't see it here. It is maybe 5 feet away.

The next morning, day 3, we have been in gravel for a bit now

20160529_145114_zpsehsmrwij.jpg

Gravel keeps on going...about 45 milers of it so far. There were two pilot led sections and the rest was self drive

IMG_0210_zpsaxr590a1.jpg

Finally through the gravel approx 60 miles later. The trailer was jet black BG (before gravel). Bryan says get an extenda fenda...needed.

We rewarded our selves in Beaver Creek at Buckshot Betty's. Took a while to warm her up, but she came around. We recommend the Mammoth Hunter...schwiiiiing.

We told you...Christmas EVERY DAY. Mrs. AuburnFJR turned out to be very naughty nice

A special note here on our stop for the night at the Northern Moosed Camping and RV Park in Fox, Alaska, Very rustic...but it did have showers, power, and wifi. More than that, Rich and Stephanie are motorcycle friendly and long distance riders themselves. The had 6 different beemers in a container on the place.

Day 5 now...running down to Denali National Park in the morning and in hope of grabbing a tour of the park in the afternoon. Passed Skinny ****'s Halfway Inn along the way...can't take a picture of that now, can we? Halfway Inn...really?

Good news, we found our way there

IMG_0344_zps1fu9l61g.jpg

One minute later...but by no means the first of the trip

IMG_0352_zpsauxrehsb.jpg

Got tickets for the tour and then set up camp

For those who don't know, Denali NP is only accessibly after the first 15 miles by bus tour. Here is what we saw:

Met this guy before and during the tour. I gave him **** for being Army, he gave us sailors **** for providing a bus. He was awesome and had brought his kid on an Alaska trip as well. He had to have been in his 90's...his boy was in his 60's. Not too many chances to meet a WWII vet and we paid him proper respect and thanked him happily. We cracked up when he made the bus stop and back up to see the moose he spotted.

Next day was Denali to Seward, with a stop in Anchorage to deal with some maintenance issues.

Just as we left Denali, we passed some of the most magnificent scenery I have ever seen

IMG_0428_zpskckgwgxi.jpg

Imagine this for 360 degrees around you, with Denali shrouded in clouds behind us for several hours.

IMG_0440_zpszlepeyyl.jpg

No pictures of Anchorage here...It is a city... But we did get this at the Bass Pro shop. Beamer's better shot

IMG_18951_zpsqir9p8jk.jpg

After this and a great meal at Gwennies Old Time Alaska restaurant - awesome food!!!! Then we took care of the trailer by getting bearings at Alaska Bearing and then across the street to Agen's Automotive to have the bearing pressed in. $55 for 8 bearings, (4 spares) and $51 to have them pressed in. 1 hour time

.

Big shout out to RredneckJ for setting up contingency plans for us if we need more help in getting the trailer wheels fixed. Fortunately we did not need the extra help.

With the maintenance issues done we continued onto Seward, and the scenery along Turnigan Arm was simply breathtaking.

IMG_0666_zpscdvfab8j.jpg

A downtown waterfront City owned RV park. We were going to stay here, But Reamer2 hooked us up with the Seward Resort - a military family resort - (Reamer 2 is active duty Coast Guard on the Oregon coast) The place is outstanding, we have met many active and retired military folks with awesome stories to tell.

If you have followed our Spot you will know we have been in the general area for the last 2 days now with 2 more to go.

Each year there is a lottery to pick 400 people who get to drive/ride all the way into Kantishna (beyond Wonder Lake) over a four day period. My wife won a spot in 2011, but was unable to use it. I did the good husband thing, sucked it up and rode in there myself. No sacrifice too great!

The next day was a glacier tour on Prince William Sound from Whittier on the Klondike Express

This catches us up to today - a rest day. Probably won;t be any more pictures until we get home due to anticipated poor wifi.

you can continue to follow along on our spot at: https://spotwalla.co...e15743d14cae002. Enjoy the ride, we have another 10 days to go.
