I has a sneaking suspicion that there's going to be an ever increasing swarm of FJRs heading toward the rising sun next year for CFR in Mont Tremblant.deal... and tell a few of your own. See you there !now's that's adventure! Gonna have to make CFR next year to hear the stories!

I can translate, for anyone in the pack enroute, and Lucie is volunteering to act as an interpreter during the event...

A few of us are heading out through the Laurentiens on a 'scouting run' the first week of August for a week. Gatinueau's, Tremblant, Mauricie Ntl Parc, Saint Simeon, Sagueney, Lac St. Jean...I has a sneaking suspicion that there's going to be an ever increasing swarm of FJRs heading toward the rising sun next year for CFR in Mont Tremblant.
Well we made it to Fort Nelson, we hadn't expected much east of Watson Lake, boy were we in for a surprise. From Whitehorse we ran down the Alaskan Hwy to the Hot Springs at Liard where we camped last night. (The hot springs are great)
Today we crossed over the northern Rockies. I had always been told that they were not a dramatic as the mountains further south, well they were pretty dramatic looking to us. Lots of wildlife, we met the Watson Lake Bison herd which lives along (right along) the Hwy, passed the biggest bull moose I have ever seen dead or alive, found a herd of caribou on the road around Summit Lake. The roads are swoopy, probably the best term, mostly chip seal but quite ridable, we did hit a couple of long stretches of construction gravel (11 km was the longest) and that was very dusty but overall some of the best riding of the whole trip.
The Scorpion Sync front is working out really well for these road conditions, highly recommended if you are planning a trip up here, the only question is the wear rate so I`m carrying Diana`s Strada discard as a get me home.
The CT on the back is the perfect choice for this trip, looks like it could do the whole trip again.
The weather has been perfect, broken cloud and slightly cool and looks to be holding.
Slow link so no pictures today, (The hot tub is calling as well).
Off over the Prairies tomorrow and the day after, and may be the day after that, Canada is a really wide country up North.
2 time zones down, 3 to go.
Chris & Diana
We are covering around 500 km / 350 miles per day, running around 20 km over the limit which is normal driving pace but taking lots of breaks and taking our time, we don't have to rush home as I'm on leave until the end of the month and Diana's classes don't start until Sept. The weather in Ottawa is awful, they had 2 inches of rain yesterday and the weather to the West of us is very hot, so we are trying to stay in this perfect pocket as it crosses the country. You guys are really having the ride of your life. How many hours are you riding per day? Has the pace been fast and long...or more slow and gentle? Have you adjusted your pace since the trip started? Has your wife enjoyed the trip? Are you two still married? j/k
Bien sur!Can I tag along East wit chew guys?
I would love to go on that trip someday but work is too busy now and I may be taking a pay cut to stay with my job. Oh yeah, and then there is the I sold my bike problem. I will have a new one soon though. Enjoy the trip and stay safe.I'm planning an extended run, at least to Fairbanks and maybe up to Prudhoe Bay after CFR.
If you can ride repeated 500 mile days
Don't mind camping at least 2 days out af 3.
Have a real good sense of humour
Dirt experience (Tracks not trails) would be a asset but not a requirement.
I'm expecting the additional mileage to add about 3 weeks on top of any travel for CFR
Anyone interested?
PM me.
