This post has inspired me to make sure I do some fork service in maybe 2013 or 14. I can't wait. Heck, I may go all out and get new springs too. I'm stoked now.

Dang, I gotta get me one of those hula girls for the dash. My hang-dog with the bobbing head just isn't cutting it at only 52K miles on my 04.

The Iron Butt Assn should have a category for cats like you: something like "Amazing Bike Mileage Achievement Platinum."

Congrats! You did it first, you did it best. (I think.)

Today was one of those days I was in a funk. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, somebody pissed in my Wheaties, PMS..... I don't know - something! I was a moody ******* in a bad mood.
So, I decided to take a ride to one my favorite mexican restaurants in Gila Bend - Sofia's. A nice 80 mile ride to this establishment on a gorgeous, sunny day in the 70s. Between the ride and the fine grub it did the trick. There was a grin going inside the helmet on the return trip along Old US 80.

And on the return I hit an FJR odometer milestone. Had to pull off to the side of I-10 in heavy traffic to get the pic, but hey, anything for you dear reader.

So here it is...............

Waddaya think?

This is the first time in my life I have ever put anything near this kind of miles on any vehicle I have ever owned. The Dirty Ol Whore has been a hell of a bike. I've not been kind to her, but she's been great to me.

I guess you never really know about these things, can't anticipate them, but I am willing to wager that I will never see that odometer reading again on ANY vehicle I will ever own.

Life is good. :)

Totally cool. I have 32k on my 2005 model. I think this is amazing and much to be admired....

Way to go scoot. Yamaha should hire you and your bike for advertisements. Might help them sell a few more FJRs.

Skoot, one question before congratulations, is the gum I spit out of my mouth near Sonora still stuck to your front cowling??

anyway way to go Sailor!! :p

Congrats on some serious miles! :yahoo: :clapping:

And to think that I almost stopped to take a picture of my 07 when it showed 33,333 miles last month. I feel so inadequate. ;)

Me too. Next stop on my '05 is 55555 probably next month. I'll just take the pic and keep it for myself. But the miles on the feej have accelerated as I "Non-Op" registered the G35 and dropped the insurance. It just sits in the garage since moving to CA anyway. Just give her a dose of Stabil and a slow cruise around the block every few weeks to keep the seals happy.

Really can't stand to drive a car here. Traffic and parking are big problems a bike solves quite nicely. My wife can't stand to drive with me anymore as I get so pissed off. Spoiled by feej.

ha
I've heard of Russel seats...but what you got is a Russel ***...

congrats ole man Scoot...
Its that left coast weather .......................Un real Numbers . Great stuff Mr G . If i just could remember all the posts about your rides . Its that right coast 70 tees thing .

Was just checking out who posted up alot of old timers that joined about the same time . Good stuff MR G.

Skootie Greg,

Thanks for leading the rest of usalong to realize what incredible potential there is in our bikes,

even if we haven't got the weather or bodies to extract it. ;)

I looked at the thermometer today and the high was in the high (wet) 30's.

The road salt is still crusty on every surface. Tree branches from our recent northeaster wind storm still litter every street.

But my heart was longing for a (long) ride. And some sun.

So, how's the real estate prices down there in the dessert these days?

It's nice to know I've only got one-fourth the miles on my '03 that Skoot has on his. At this rate, I'll have 222,222 miles in...oh,...about 2031. Of course, I'll be 75 then (I hope). Nope, just gonna keep the Feej, knowing its only just broken in good at 57,000. Skooter G and his '03: an example worth aspiring to.
