Geeze, that was fooking hilarious! Thanks, guys, I needed that laugh! And it looks like Mr. Downer has left the building... Maybe we should recommend him to EZBoard... Just a thought. ;)

With the original Venture Royale no longer in production and my well known allergy to "classic" styled motorcycles this will probably be my UberTourer once my '89 Royale reaches it's end of useful life... :D

Two of the guys I ride the most with ride BMWs... have gone to numerous HSTA events with them (Arkansas, Kerrville, Ride the Rio)... in fact, when I was last in the bike market, and was envying the RT that one rides, he pointed me towards the FJR.

Definitely not BMW snobs...

Are all BMW owners pompous butt wipes?
No.

1. I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't seem to get my head that far up my ***.

2. Never miss a good chance to shut up.

3. Don't go away mad, just go away.

Hey numbnuts (you like to call others that so you must like it),

The BMW world is also aware of your shenanigans.

Congratulations numbnuts.

My best friend has an '03 1150RT & we've ridden about 15k miles together on long trips in the last 4 years. He likes his bike & I love mine, but it's humorous for me to hear his reasons why he likes his bike (resale value was one of the items mentioned). Last year a part of our trip was a visit to 'Beemerville' in Lima Ohio ( the annual BMW convention ).

A wide spectrum of humanity was on display, most were very friendly, even after they saw the FJR. There did seem to be a few types missing though. There were no straight pipes, no wet T shirt contests, & very few self righteous asshats. They were extremely well organized, to the point where they had a booth where you could get your Cell/Ipod/whatever charged up. All in all about 40 vendors had booths and the food was pretty good. After seeing the full spectrum at Sturgis, this was a big improvement...

downn2 = Troll

too funny, :D :D THANK YOU so much for the link to the BMW site ;)

Ya know I was just thinking....poor downer 2...reading all these negative words about his negative outlook on just about everything....maybe he'll consider ending it all.... :dead: nah, couldn't get so lucky...what the heck though they posted his business address on the BMW site :haha: :haha:

My answer to trolls is never talk to them. It's OK to talk about them in the third person as if they're not in the room. It also sometimes to talk about their smallish genitalia, low double digit IQ's, and opine whether they were breast fed as babies.

But talk to them just gives them power.

Nice catch on the BMW site.

They'll implode or go away.

Good call in PMs last week when he kept hounding me until I nailed him for a troll. He still didn't give up. I went and removed my posts to one thread simply because he wasn't worth the risk of any board demerits it might have created.

Hey what goe's around comes around. Nuf said.....Painman. <><

The dudes over at K-Bike forum are proposing that everyone send a thank you card to his employer (the source of his posts) thanking them for allowing him to post to the forum using the company's resources. Now THAT'S funny.

Yeah, we've got an old sayin' down here. "If Fort Worth is where the West begins, Dallass must be where the East peters out."

perhaps, but putting someone's job at risk over internet stuff is pretty dicked up. at the same time they are also talking about how hard we lit in to him while they went easy on him (took the high ground). seems pretty passive-aggressive to me.

Seems to me that we were pretty gentle. We've had much worse in this neighborhood.

Okay, okay...

All those in favor of referring to downn2 from this day forward in any and all references as 'Frank Burns' from MASH say 'aye' {no offense to the REAL Frank Burns' of the world}...
