About a month ago, my ex and I put a really nice 4' teak bench at my son's grave. I generally visit very early in the morning and once again in the early evening to just sit and reflect. This morning I found the bench desecrated by some ******** with a black poster size magic marker. He had written "I Thank You AMP26!?" all over the back of it. The cops rolled up and immediately knew who did it but informed me that they can't really do anything unless he is caught red handed. After 1/2 hour of sanding I was able to remove it all but I am still totally pissed off. One can only hope that this loser gets invited as the guest of honor to an old fashioned Marine Corps style blanket party....

Jesus. You have know idea how that kind of **** pisses me off. Especially so that your son served his country.

Axe,

Clearly that is an irresponsible thing to have done. But when I read what he wrote I wondered what was meant. Do you suppose he was actually thanking Jordan for his service in his own perverted way? Or am I just being naive... ?

You know, Fred, thats exactly what the cops were saying....His dumb-*** way of paying respect. Of course now that I've deleted his artwork I'm sure he will be back for round two. RADMAN's idea of a game camera is an excellent idea, I might just have to do that.

All this time I figured someone may actually take the bench so I poured concrete into a 3' length of PVC and buried that with an anchor hook and then attached a piece of SS aircraft cable to one of the legs. I buried enough cable so that when they started running with the bench and figured that they were home free they would get half way to the car and would run out of cable.

Does "AMP26" hold any meaning that you recognize? Or to Jordan somehow?

No, not at all. I asked how old the guy was or if he knew Jordan and they said that he was 28 years old and started tagging everything in the village when he was 26. Of course they didn't want to give me his name for obvious reasons.

You are correct that this **** happens all over the world. back in Russia same **** was happening back in 80th when boys were coming home from Afgan in boxes.

Difference is back there no one really cared if you took it upon your self to teach pricks a lesson.

Why can't freaking people leave things the F*** alone. Axman, I'm sorry someone did this. Honestly I woudln't give a rat's *** what it means... Just stay the hell away!!

That is absolutely unforgivable!

That coward needs an asswhoppin! He/she clearly doesn't have a clue.

Sorry to hear that.

Google AMP26. I am at work and getting blocked, but looks like something to do with music.

Somehow, you need to find out his name. Enough 'distant' friends give this ****** a friendly phone call, or note on the door, and perhaps the message will start getting through. 28 years old is too old for this crap.

My take was that amp26 was the vandal's handle. A quick Google turns up someone's Flickr account that goes by that name with pictures in NY. I'm thinking this is your guy...
