Axeman,

I know your pissed and this is really crappy but.. dont let it get you down. People who do this kind of thing are just not worth gettin pissed at.

I'm absolutely stunned that a "human being" could do this. As some others have said, perhaps it is some sort of homage to your son, albeit in a manner guaranteed to piss off most reasonable people. I'm 61 yrs old, Axeman, have served in the Army, and stand second to none for respect for our fallen, but this cannot be a vigilante type of thing. I'd be most constructive if you and he could get in a room together and just talk. I'm guessing that he would come away with an education, and if he does it again, then you could in good conscience, beat the crap out of him. Good luck Axeman, you and your son are in our thoughts.
+1...Maybe he's jes really stupid and simply needs to understand that there are real people behind these memorials.

Then...if he really is jes more than stupid...a hateful person...then the tuneup to his sense of decorum might be in order.

Either way, we care about you and your son...and this stuff really pisses us off.

I'm about half a day away from getting a positive ID and address on this guy. I appreciate all the advice and support everyone has given and I think I'm going to go with MADJACKDOG's advice and knock on his door to have a discussion with him about how his stupidity affects the lives of so many because I'm sure no one else has ever done so. While it would give me great satisfaction to see him suffer in some way, I wouldn't want to lower myself to his level. The fact that I am even acknowledging his "art" is difficult for me. This guy is crying out for attention in all the wrong places....I think CHECKSWRECKS might be onto something also by suggesting I send some photos to his mother. I'd bet you she would just be bursting with pride. If she raised such a turd in the first place I doubt that she would even care.

Axe - I've been following this thread from the get-go. To say I'm pissed that someone would do this to Jordan's grave site would be an understatement. I think that you taking the "high road" and possibly having a discussion with him would be good for you. Something along the lines of, "My son died for you, and I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate how you used your freedom." I would have a witness there. Thank you for the bravery of your son.

+1 on having a witness. :clapping:

Axe,

+1 million. My dad served in WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam, and I know what kind of pain you are going thru. God Bless you and yours.

Go talk nice to the shitbag, if you don't get a good feeling he is sorry he did it, give his address to the brothers in arms and let them talk to him on their terms. I like what Norman said, "Our job is to faciliate the meetings", get my drift?
