**** this sucks, just checked the forum after being out of town a couple days.

Don, hope you heal fast but more importantly heal well.

oh, don't encourage the man.........sheesh!
We're men, Barb. We're hard wired differently. Of course we all wish him well and want him to heal completely first. We are all secretly cringing at what Don has in front of him right now. Words of encouragement are all we have to deal with this event. It's what we do. Go with it. Trust me on this one. :)

Don, if there is a god, he'll quickly send Nurse Pamela Anderson to your hospital room for daily sponge baths.

Heal up soon, ya big Irish lug. Jess sayin and snuff said.

What a frickin bummer to hear of your get off Don. And your injuries don't sound like a walk in the park either.

I'm thinkin' you're a pretty tough ol' bird though, and in time this will just be a distant memory.

Have faith and ride again soon big guy.

Dammit Don,

I hate these kind of threads.

We've all been there... First you say it - then you do it - and then it hurts like hell.

Heal up quickly, but do enjoy the sessions with the cute little physical therapist.

You know, the one named Ginger, not the other one named Bruno.

Hudson, I'm thinking Nurse Claudia Shiffer. But! I'm sure Nurse Pam Anderson will do in a pinch. :)

Well, I just heard about this get-off. It sucks. I thought when he and Seth hit that deer in Utah while riding in front of me, and not going down, that he was impervious. Heal up el jefe. Free goat when you get up this way again.

EDIT: Just read more posts and said that the shoulder joint is being replaced, not just a clavicle issue? Can someone in the know confirm? That sucks if true.

Damn. Hate to see this news. Thoughts and prayers heading your way Don. Heal well. Looking forward to seeing you in May even if we have to go to Phoenix to do it!

Damn, Stanley. Didn't you get the memo? We aren't youngsters anymore. Can't be huckin our old bods around like we used to.

Wishing for the best in your upcoming shoulder replacement and PT. It is pretty amazing what they can do with a few good spare parts these days. Just don't let them use any of your beloved BMW parts. You'll want that new shoulder to last a whole lot longer than that. ;)

In the glass half full department, we're seriously glad that you are in good hands now and that this happened in the States and not south of the border. Heal up fast and well.

Very late to this thread, intentionally. Selfishly somehow, I always stick my head in the sand on this topic. The reality of our risk is sometimes hard for me to swallow. But I'm keeping good thoughts for our friend Don today on Mardi Gras. I'm hoping very soon he will be letting his own good times roll on his motorcycles!

Ride safe, my friends. But indeed, ride on.

Don, Cec and I are in Mexico and I just heard about this. We will be home around the first and will call and come and see you. In the meantime heal and get well.

I hate it when this happens.

May all your pain meds be good, all your Dr.'s be on their game, and all of your nurses be well proportioned (females).

I say we put Don and Bust in the same nursing home and see who comes out on top.

I spoke to Don last night and I can confirm that the doctors will be doing a shoulder joint replacement. The doctors went in first to clean up the knee and if I understood Don correctly there was also some ligament damage to the knee that was repaired. The replacement shoulder joint is customed made so it may be a while before they perform the shoulder surgery plus they may want to wait a little bit to give Don a little time to recover from the knee surgery.

This was one hell of a painful way to get out of paying for a round of margaritas on our ride in Mexico next month.

Damn! A SPU sighting! Very generous offer, Michael, but hoping it doesn't require this kind of bad news thread for you to surface. And it looks like most of southern Oregon is represented:

I say we put Don and Bust in the same nursing home and see who comes out on top.
It's probably safe to say that it won't be the livestock.

Hope to see both these old goats healed up and leading the debauchery by summer.
