I'm looking to install new front and rear brake pads on my 2007 FJR.

Where is the best place to get OEM pads?

Also, what other hardware should I replace?

Best price depends on how much stuff you are ordering and where it's getting shipped to. I recently checked prices from my favorite low cost vendors and reported the Results Here. To lower shipping costs, I put together a list of things I'll be needing in the future and order all of it at once.

Shouldn't need any other parts just to replace front brake pads unless caliper pistons are sticking or rotors are worn below limits.

The original pads have 35K miles. I would like to replace the pads on front and rear and some people say to replace a pin, some clips, etc.

Best price I found for a set of front brakes (EBC FA423/4HH) was at Powersport Superstore through Amazon. Both sets plus shipping was $90.16. That was $84.18 plus $5.98 shipping. I had the rears already so can't help you there. Bestest for OEM so far was around $160 without shipping.

doctorj

take a look at jake wilson. set of fronts way less than 90 bucks shipped.ebc hh run 30.99 for each set of fronts. 7 dollar shipping on orders under 99 bucks free 3 day over 99 bucks. beats the amount that powersports super store ripped the doctor for.

Do you have a Gen I FJR? If so, an entirely different beast.

As for the OP, I have no idea what is recommended for a Gen II. On a Gen I it is recommended to replace the pins and spring clips though I think most people don't bother with those items. Why are you replacing the rear pads? Are they really worn out too?

Shoot Cougar8000 a PM. He can get you the Yamaha OEMs or the EBC HH Sintered pads. Im running those now and love them.

Thanks for all the replies. I own a 2007 and I just need front pads.

Question is, what other hardware do I need and can someone document the process?

I will get the OEM pads.

Just replace the pads, the pins and anti-rattle clips should be fine. I replaced mine last summer with Carbonne Lorraine SBK pads and like them a lot. They were much cheaper on ebay than any OEM pads I could find anywhere at the time. A few people have said they're not rotor friendly, but so far so good here. Oh yeah, clean your pistons good while you're at it.

How many miles did you have the on the bike, when you replaced the front pads?

How about the rear? Did you replace it as well?

I replaced my front pads with those CL pads and was not impressed with their perfomance. Sure, they stopped the bike just as well as factory pads but the factory pads lasted over twice as long and the CL pads wore my front rotors down below minimum thickness specs. Back to factory pads for me!

I agree that there's no reason to replace the anti-rattle clip or pins unless they are damaged. Check the pin carefully for grooving that would stop the pad from sliding freely.

So, just so I'm clear. I own a 2007 FJR.

This is the part number for the pad: 3P6-W0045-00-00

Cost is around $42.00. And I need 4 total for the front.

That's a $160.00 for 4 pads? That is crazy?

or

Is this number: 3P6-W0045-00-00 for X 2?

OK, I called some dealers and I need:

3P6-W0045-00-00 BRAKE PAD KIT $40.12 X 2 = $80.24

One KIT is for one side.
Are you sure? I don't own a Gen II but I know you need a total of 8 pads - 4 for each side or caliper. The way I read the parts diagram, is you need FOUR of the pad kits. ????

Well, I think I'm sure.

I agree with you that the diagram shows that I need FOUR of the pad kits, but each caliper has 2 pads. There are total of 2 Calipers. So, I think I need found pads.
