Perhaps I should offer a Candy Butt Association award for the shortest distance rider arriving on a PINK Skooter? Oh, wait, Fairlaner would be a shoe-in!

Cool stuff Dean, will see you there, all 225 CBA miles away. It will take me 2 travel days, but I'll try to be there!
Our apartment is only 1.25 miles away from Pinks, but I don't have a scooter :ermm:

If I can get my YSR50 street legal by then, would that count as a scooter? Or would I be disqualified for inducing mass laughing fit injuries?
Wendy, if you ride in on the ysr wearing something really pink as outerware that's normally inner ware, you'll get the free weeenie! (and all the attention of the freakazoids, too)

Our golden retriever Sprocket is expecting - and due on November 21st.

I guess what I'm saying is, if Mike shows up solo on the YSR wearing a frilly pink teddy, ya know... Try to show him a good time. (And I assure you, if there is one place in the world where a 5X man-sized pink teddy can be found to match his size 14 pink stiletto knee-high boots, it would be West Hollywood.)

This RTE always has a great FJR turnout!
OK all you Sacramento guys & gals... now that we can forecast that the weather is going to be so agreeable - i was hoping to see more of us chime in.

I’m definitely interested. Let's do this thing big. There's still time to plan - such as where to stay.

Whadda ya say??

Dave Mig.

I'm warming up to this ride, particularly now that my heated gear is working thanks to all my forum buddies. And a special shout out to dCarver, El Hombre Del Culo Ducle, who kindly wrote many words of advice, including to wear more gear. He be one smart Culo Dulce.

Anyway, if I go, here's prolly what I'd do:

  1. Saturday morning ride down to UCSB via US 101. Get there around 1PM. Take my son to to lunch, let him show me around Isla Vista and Campus.
  2. Get back on the road late afternoon and hit L.A. around dark or 6PM.
  3. Go directly to motel and check in.
  4. Go to the pre-event rendezvous arranged by a local forum member at their home, where I will eat their hors d'oeuvres and drink their non-alcoholic beer while visiting with other forum members. And we'll celebrate my birthday, that being my birthday day an' all. (Still waiting for this post....
    :glare: )
  5. Head to Pinks by 10 PM; leave 1:30 per the schedule. Return to motel. Sleep till I wake up. Eat food. Blast home up 5.
This is my likely motel (5 minutes from Pinks):

Motel 6 los angeles - hollywood #4044
1738 n whitley ave
us 101/hollywood fwy at hollywood blvd
Hollywood, CA, 90028
Haven't absolutely positively decided it's a yes, but it's lookin' Gude....

A couple three years ago when the first Pinks RTE was done I ended up getting a room with a couple other riders at the Hollywood Motel 6, (last room, snagged it that night with the cell phone from Hollywood Blvd). The M6 has the bulletproof glass for the check in person. They also have underground parking, with attendants. The attendants had us park the bikes right by their station and watched them for us. Even covered up the one bike slightly outside when it started to rain.

The M6 is pretty marginal inside as these things go, but it's what you expect for a cheap hotel with the inside corridor, (noisy), in Hollywood. The parking guys rocked though. GPS was left on the bikes, no issues, and gave the attendants a good tip.

Hey Hans, this is your chance to participate in a long distance rally, without the long distance part. You can keep your agenda as before, but pick up a few bonii on your way in from UCSB. Come on dude, get Yankin'!

If anyone needs a stop-off point to rest for a bit, let me know. I'll be heading down and back from Bakersfield. Unless I plan a longer pre-ride...

Damn your ears must be burning. Just 5 minutes ago I was talking to Dan and said I might see his bike on Saturday night.

Prior b-day commitment will keep me away from going. Looks like fun, and I need to get back doing some of that shtuff...

So, Sir Richard: How did bite the Wienie go last night? Did dcarver meet the transvestite of his dreams? Did johnny80s eat 13 hot dogs? Did my illegitmate bastard son SkooterG behave himself? I've called him twice today and he hasn't answered.

Did OCfjr make new car tire disciples? Did mi amigo RenoJohn show up? If you've pictures, trannys and all, please post up!

I had two hot dogs and two Grape sodas. Also had a 1/2 pound burger at the Outlaw. It was good and kudos to Fairlaner for picking a good place to eat.

We had a great night. Richard did get hit twice, once by DJBill and once by Skooter. Riding through LA at night was a lot of fun. We even hit Tommy's on Rampart and Beverly were Skooter learned the chili is for the burgers and fries and should not be eaten with a spoon.

We did not see any Trannys but we did get a picture of a Gene Simmons look a like. Don will need to post that. I can't wait for next year.

Fixed it for you. Did Richard accept either of the proposals?

Weather shut me down in the Siskiyous and then on top of that work wanted ot on Sat. That pretty much killed my still lingering desire to try and get over the passes. Glad to hear folks had some fun!
