Last Sunday got into a farkle frenzie. Along the way, a new Blue Seas fuse box was installed underseat of Crzy8, a 2006 A model. Re-routed all my wiring for a nice tidy clean look and for ease of maintenance. Along the way, decided to remove the 2 amp fast blow in-line fuses from the StarCom1 and Escort X50 radar detector harnesses. Don't need them, the Blue Seas is fused...less clutter.

Now, let's install those 2 amp ATC fuses. ATC fuses are the big blade automotive style fuses. Hmm, the smallest I can find in my newly-organized-with-stereo-and-color-tv-shop are 3 amps. I'll stop by mananna and pick up some 2 amp jobbers.

After stopping at 2 Radio Shacks, 2 Kragens, Sears, finally the second Napa store I went to the guy says, 'never heard of a 2 amp ATC but let's check the book'. ...and they actually are made, can be ordered. 5 for $2.12 and a complete afternoon of running around. If I were to to this over again, I'd probalbly leave the OEM in-line fuses in place. Posted as public courtesey of the guy who now has a freshly-organized, well-light shop with stereo and......

Repairs complete.

Some of the bigger boat supply places have them also. The Blue Seas fuse block, afterall, was designed to be used for marine applications.

btw - for anyone interested, I just checked the website and defender.com is still selling the 6-circuit version for $26.99 https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-...0&id=336189 (it shows 12-circuit version even though the 5025 is the 6 circuit version)

There are plenty of online sources for these gems of almost any amperage. I got a boxed assortment via overstocks.com a long time ago and subsequently switched over to super cool LED fuses that illuminate when shorted. I don't think the LED ones come in 2 amp though... And, they're a bit taller than the std fuses and rub against the lid of the blue sea bus

I just went through this same thing installing a DC power kit for my Kenwood radio. We have one Auto Parts store in Napa that had them, and it was not a NAPA Auto Parts store if you get what I mean.
