Kaw KZ1300. long stroke I-6. 8000 rpm red line. heavy. no room for overbore. lots of torque. smoooooth. was a nice bike but top heavy. has a dedicated following among vintage touring enthusiasts. BMW version probably less top heavy with cylinders canted forward.

Except for the fact that it was 27 years old. A modern technology 6 should be awesome and BMW builds the best inline sixes ever! "The first model to be introduced will be an innovative and luxurious BMW touring machine." I'm anxious to see this!
