Buddy wants 07 silver... willing to go w/electro shift???

So my buddy has fallen in love with my 07 blacko/cherry-o. But he can't stand the thought of riding a bike that is the same color as mine. He can't wrap his brain around the fact that Yamaha doesn't offer the clutch version in silver. So he's considering the electric shift.

He's a big boy... 6' 6" and 280lbs. Will he be disappointed??

He needs to put all the considerations of electric shift WAY above the color. Paint is much cheaper than depreciation from reselling a new, yet slightly used bike.

He can always put the stripe kit on his to make it look very different than yours.

He's got 2" and 20 pounds on me and I'm ecstatic to the point of having 47,000 miles on my '05. He likely would be interested in a few accessories like higher seat, peg lowerers, windshield, etc.

Concur on the color choice. One should want an AE and not take one because of the color. If so, make a used '04 (same silver as the AE) an option to look at.

I have an AE and I love it. I'm 6 foot 240 and it's sweet. Just don't pay too much for it. I got a new 06 for 11,000. But for commuting, you can't beat it. If you're a kid and need to do wheelies and burnt outs then don't get it. But if you want a great touring bike, get it.

Find a dealer that has a blue 06. It will cost less then yours, and it's a different color.

Yes, but I paid MSRP OTD ... was $13,799 and we have no sales tax in Oregon. Initially I didn't want blue but before I thought of a color swap I couldn't find any. What ones I did find were several states away then was looking at $500-$600 shipping...plus a bike already a year old so I figured paying MSRP OTD was actually pretty good considering I could buy a bike 10 miles from where I live, in the color I wanted plus I now have a unique bike.

Tell him to buy the Black Cherry and I'll trade out my blue tupperware. I love the Black Cherry.
