I just read on rallymasters.org that the Cal24 is scheduled again for June of '06. Can anyone confirm this? There was a rumour that it may not happen again this year.

Oh boy, what a blast if it is. Where do wifey and I sign up. :dribble:

I was wondering also. I posted a message on LDRiders to see if anyone knew if was going to happen this year, but so far it is still an unknown. Hopefully it is held, I had a good time last year.

Have y'all emailed Tom Melchild and ask him directly?

His email contact is on the Cal 24 website.....

response from rdcyclist on STN:

I spoke with Tom Melchild at the San Jose motorcycle show last month and he told me the Cal24 is a go for next year. Currently the plan is to start from Dunnigan like in 04. They'll be updating the website in the next coupla weeks.

As usual, it'll be a blast. I imagine it'll be 24hours of twisty road hell. I look forward to seein' you all there.

That's what I'm talkin' bout! :dribble:

Now what about some of the NorCal riders? You guys/gals want in on a piece of this action? :mmm:

I can verify I've heard this same "rumor" from one of the organizers.

Keep the weekend of June 10th open. <G>

See you there for this premiere event.

Well, there's goes at least 2 places down the finishing order for me and my passenger. :D

Ya might wanna talk with George about his Cal24 '05 event before making that assumption... ;)

True enough.

Thus far, and hopefully without arrogance, I can say that except that pesky IBR, I have been able to "succeed" in every 24-hour event I've entered EXCEPT the Cal 24.

Tom Melchild and Mike Heran are both IBR finishers and FULLY-COMPETENT Rally Masters who can kick the ass of up-starts and Vet's alike.

If'n you think the Cal 24 is some "regional" event that you might have some "advantage" with; you are sorely mistaken. I laugh upon the lives of your un-born children.

You want a REAL challenge, sign up for the Cal 24.

As an up and coming RM myself, I can honestly say that the Cal 24 has been one of the most inspiring "archetypes" that I've copied blatently. It's truly one hell of a rally.

You miss the Cal 24, you missin' the boat BIG-TIME!

Don't be a land-locked sailor. Chump.

PS: Mark, you better be ready for moi. I'M PISSED! <G>

I'm lookin' forward to it!

Just make sure you're payin' attention to those pesky photo bonii... :bleh:

Sounds like a good time with some folks I know.  I await the entry form. I love people and LDRs
TurboDave
Dave, your more than welcome to camp out at our place before and after the Cal24, since it starts and ends in Dunnigan.

The entry form is up on the site BTW, in case you missed it. I'm heading over there right now since there's a limit of 70 entrants. :mmm:

Skyway, sent in the registration today. thanks for the offer to bunk out at your place, i will plan on doing that. Thanks a million.

Dave

Hey Skyway!

I'll be bunking out at your place too!

Actually, not too sure I will be running this year's Cal24. Job turmoil not only is keeping me from spending enough time here, but will probably impact my availabe vacation this summer in an extremely negative way.

So see if you can have some fun without me. Me, I will miss seeing you and the missus.

If this makes the difference for you to attend, then you are more than welcome to camp out. After the event, I'll even let you use my spa that looks out over the Sierra Foothills. :D
