Canadian Rally Anyone?

I'm interested in riding some nice roads in Ontario. It does not look like planning for an Ohio or WV ride is going too far in the midwest forum.
You may want to post this in the Midwest forum for more visibility and input. I do agree overlapping with SWFOG is much less of a problem than EOM. Could be wrong.

There are several active FJR touring riders closeby (NY, IL, IN, OH) that would make the trip if we have a half baked plan and can do burnouts in BugR's yard. Did I say that??

You might get a bit wet trying burnouts in the back, the water is normally higher than this

Sept. 8 would work out well for me at this point. Don't worry about anything too detailed, just set a date and have a common hotel for folks to meet up. I'm sure someone can suggest a few routes that people can take part in. Thanks for putting some thought into a ride in upper Canada. Gypsy and I will make every effort drag all the Maritime FJRs to this event. B)

The whole Ottawa river freezes solid enough that you can drive over.

That would mean that the Canadian FJR rally would be held over the August long weekend. The same long weekend were everybody who lives in the GTA travels to the same area we are holding the rally. I wouldn't hold your breath for this one.... :blink:

Okay guys. I haven't posted in a bit so I thought I would provide a bit of an update.

1- I think there is enough interest to make it worthwhile for me to go ahead and organize a Canadian FJR Rally.

2- We need either a TLA (or an ETLA) to call our event.

3- Right now the leading two weekends to hold the event are either Aug24-25-26 or Sept 7-8-9. (Either the weekend before or after labour day).

My next step is to do a road trip and scope out the area for a hotel and other facilities. I hope to do this either over the Xmas holidays or sometime in January. (Not sure if I am going away over XMas or hanging at home yet). This is the reason for my continued flexibility on dates, I dont want to pick a date till I am also sure we can pick a location.

So my next question is this: From the two suggested dates (weekend before or after Labour day) is there one that people seem to prefer more than the other?
