Nah, I disagree. If lots of weight were the solution my wife would be the champion of centerstand deployment. I am certain that she cannot do it though. She can barely carry her feed sack to the trough...
It's always about masturbation with you ain't it?T'wasn't out to be a jerk or pounce or anything - merely wanted to show our admittedly new forumite how a search tool works is all.If someone were to search for LMGTFY in the Forum, you will find this has been a somewhat frequently used tool. Unlike some of the other 'help' we have offered people, this one doesn't draw blood as often.
Besides, the first couple of times I put my FJR on the center stand (after spending 10+ years on bikes without one), I beat the living **** outta my Bishop I was so happy.
Good to see the Dale Carnegie "How to Win friends and Influence People" course is workin' out for ya fish!Nah, I disagree. If sex with 3 people is called a threesome, and sex with 2 people is a twosome, I understand why they call you handsome! It's always about masturbation with you ain't it?T'wasn't out to be a jerk or pounce or anything...Besides, the first couple of times I...beat the living **** outta my Bishop I was so happy. If someone were to search for LMGTFY in the Forum, you will find this has been a somewhat frequently used tool. I bet tire height is at least some of the difference. As cotyjim pointed out, 3/4" is a big difference. The first fraction of an inch is the most difficult. The higher the bike gets, the more mechanical advantage you have.I didn't mention it in my appraisal of the two bikes (ST1300 & FJR), but the FJR is the first bike in my last 3 that I can "pop" up on the center stand. The ST is still a bear for me, and my CBX was so tough I used a piece of 3/4" plywood under the rear tire before attempting a center stand deployment. I'm about 5-11, 145.
Lmao!!! )Why do people always assume the rider's weight has anything to do with the center stand? It absolutely does not, as I have done it all along without ever using my weight to left the bike. What IS required is some technique and not being a *****. If you have enough strength to stand, you should have enough to lift the bike. Post #2 or 3 spelled it out correctly. If you still can't lift the bike, put down your double skinny upsidedown caramel latte and go to the goddammed gym.
OR get your wife to do it.

RH, could you possibly give a warning before posting stuff such as this? I am now mopping up the floor, from the beer-spray that shot out of my mouth and nose, while reading it.Nah, I disagree.
