I suffered from that heat induced coma too. After I split off from fljab and DaveB, I stopped to check on the workshop (my man-cave) and stayed a bit too long. The heat got to me and on the ride out I laid the FJR down in some 6" deep sand. No real damage, but I had a heck of a time getting her back up. This was the first time I had the FJR back on that sand road and and a combination of the sand and delirium from the heat took me down. Normallly on the Tiger, I can just blip the throttle to keep the front wheel up on top of the sand but not with the street tires of the FJR. At least now I know what points hit first when its on its side. Hopefully this is the first and last time that happens!"Howie Checkin' In -- just wakin' up from a heat-induced mini-coma!/snip/
The first 3 hours of the ride were pretty okay, temperature-wise, but about 1pm, it seemed like the temps soared about 30 degrees more and right about the time Riclet and I split off from Sergeantnic at the end of the festivities, I was worrying about my own abilities to handle the heat. It was fukin' BRUTAL!
