Be prepared to do the rain gear shuffle, It alternated between hot sun and freezing rain every 30 mins today.

Alpine Motel in Cooke City is a good place to stay, $65 a room with wifi.

Chris

This is where I was today!

I'm in Calgary ! Huron and NSRider - where are you ?!
We stayed in Winner, SD last night and are headed for Wall Drug, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse area today.
I'm sure you're having better weather than we did ! Didn't make it to Wall Drug (bad route planning on my part), Mount Rushmore socked in by fog and by the time we got to Crazy Horse, it was foggy and 5 degrees. We snapped a shot from the gate and bailed - wet and cold (and I was VERY disappointed as you know if you've been following blog)

In Abbotsford tonight and planning on Tofino tomorrow. I've been on my own since Calgary ....

See you soon!

I'm in Kalispell, MT tonight, did Glacier today. I hate to say it but the weather has absolutely rocked. Wandering in Idaho is on the schedule for tomorrow.

Pretty, pretty huh??

Yeah, the weather has been great for our trip down south and back. We had to put on rain gear for about a half hour before we got to Nashville and again today when we were leaving Sturgis and another short time when we got into Montana.

We are in Hardin tonight, Little big horn and Beartooth tomorrow and then I will start looking for some new rubber.

Taken near Nakusp earlier (ok maybe it was further south at Rainer...I can't remember, my brain is frozen <_<

I'm now in Prince George and starting to loop south...

Petey and I are a day behind rickcorwn, we are in Kalispell, MT tonight. We are leaving tomorrow am for Banff and should be in Nakusp Thursday noon or so. We have had some clouds but the rain has been minimal. The temperatures have ranged from 56 - 80. So far so good.

We stayed in Billings, MT last night and shared the parking lot with 3 sets of guys and their old model Morris Minors. They had left Key West and were heading for Prudhoe Bay at about 300 miles a day. They could probably make it in 88 hrs also if they weren't fighting the headwinds.

Had some new tires put on my R1200 GSA yesterday morning at the BMW/Yamaha dealer in Sturgis. Got there at 8:15 left, with new front and rear mounted and balanced at 10:15 am for something like $380. Good service and a very fair price for wheels on the bike and far from home.

Got a phone call from my buddy Adam, aka GALAXYBLUE, today. He was in Kansas City and could meet for lunch. Had to tell him the sad news. Petey and I were in Montana on our way to the CFR. You could hear the sobbing without the phone. The boy needs some time off.

See you all soon.

Chester & Petey

Dateline The Bozone:

Heading out in the morning for Libby or Kalispell and on to Nakusp on Thursday. The wounded finger is doing OK but had to cut a finger out of a glove to get the glove on. Who says the clutch on the Gen II is hard to pull? Well, me actually, and sometimes I do wish I had done the mod to put a Gen I clutch slave cylinder in :(

Hope to see some of you on the road and if not, at the bar on Thursday.

Cheers,

7X

Then on the way back hit Coombs Country Market and maybe get some fudge...
Somehow...well....we should have known you had the "chocolate shopping" figured out.

We're outta here! See you all in Nakusp.
