Who else likes these 023gt's? Do they wear unevenly like BT021 fronts? I've run BT021's and PR2's on a K1100RS, the BT fronts didn't hold up and PR2's were a vast improvement. Currently have Pirelli Diablo's on my FJR with plans to replace with PR2's soon. Before I do, I'll consider this 023gt alternative. blufjr says they are comparable to PR2's but exceptional in the lean cuisine (to paraphrase).
'Rydr -- based on my experience with the GTs the front is going to wear very evenly without a lot of drama. As several have mentioned, these tires have a great feel and add tons of twisty fun!

So, what's the mileage on these tires? I get about 7K tops from my PR2's. So, these would be what? 5K? 6K?
PC -- Expect comparable mileage to PR2s! For a reasonably priced tire, I really like these.

<snip>

The cupping on the sides of the rear doesn't really bother me that much. It happens because we (both apparently) like to power out of corners. :yahoo: Nothing wrong with that by the way. Just a fact of life. If you hit the throttle coming out of corners on a regular basis you will cup your tires because the applied torque will flex the tread blocks and cause the leading edge to wear away faster than the trailing.
Fred, another thing to consider is compression braking into corners. I'm not that hard on the throttle out of corners (most of the time  ) but get the same cupping on rear tires. As an experiment, take a couple clicks of rebound dampening out of the rear shock. This seems to reduce the severity of the cupping.

I've been replacing tires on 3 FJR's since '04 and used several brands over the years. All of them got me about 8,000 miles per set on pretty much the same roads (local, tours to CO, NM, WV, AR etc.) and same twist on the right grip. They might vary 500 miles each way. Some sets had the front and rear wear out at the same time, and some had the front cup so badly they went with the rear (even though the same brand and model of tire didn't do that on the set before.)

So I am at 6,000 on this set of 023GTs and I can see I will make more than 8,000 miles-- maybe 10,000 for a change. I (strangely) have not had them in the wet except for a short stretch on interstate, so I can't say how good they are wet. But for what I do and how I ride, I like them enough to order another set today.

Not to make this a tire thread but as far a miles go, it looks like I will get a few more miles than the usual 8,000 with other tires I've used.
I went away from the PR2 because problems with the fronts vibrating and cupping. Put the 023's on around 4,000 miles ago and they are wearing much better IMHO. YMMV.

Chaparrel Motorsports is having a tire sale on '023GTs. Just picked a set up for $209.88 with free shipping. Sale ends January 31st...act now! :)

I ran a set of 023's on my Honda ST1300 after running Pilot 2's first. Pilots were more predictable 023's about 1200 more miles(4800). Prefer the pilots.

Just bought a set via ebay/PayPal for 209.99 with free shipping:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4712.m570.l1313&_nkw=Bridgestone+BT023+GT+120%2F70ZR-17+%26+180%2F55ZR-17+Set+&_sacat=See-All-Categories

And, according to the "buy it now" listing there does not seem to be a sale end date. Currently 9 sets sold and 9 sets still available.

I bought a set of these on jan. 6 and had a problem.

When I was ordering a window poped up and said the order qualified for free 2 day shipping which is a little better then ground.

I thought that's great and went through the process and my printed receipt reflected the free shipping and price of $209.

A couple days later I get a call from chaparell and the guy says do to the size the tires don't qualify for the 2 day shipping.

He say's ground I say fine but what about your website poping up with that free 2 day shipping? He says it's a kliche in the site,I say fine again to ground shipping. I get the tires the next day and think well great until my wife calls me and says they charged $221.I'm thinking they charged me for the 2 day shipping. So I call the customer service and the lady say's you didn't get charged for the shipping but that the tires went off sle and that was the price.

Well I tried to explain to this woman that I had a printed receipt for the $209 price and she just wouldn't try to rectify the situation.

The more I talked to her the more pissed off I got and finally said the hell with it and hung up.

So as of now that's where I'm at. I will send them out a copy of my printed receipt but don't expect to be helped after their ****** customer service.

Anybody else have these problems? The amount of money isn't the issue here it's the way the customer service rep handled it, she didn't care and told me to stop yelling at her. I said lady I am not yelling at you , you just don't seem to care about resolving this for a measely 12 bucks.

That ended the conversation and I'll probably not buy from them again because of this. Sorry Admin. if I put this in the wrong place.

That's bad on them for two counts...the shipping and the non sale price as advertised.

Chaparrel is off my list.

FWIW - I've bought 3 sets of tires from them, always good results (low price/free & fast shipping). 1st set I bought by calling a rep who was very helpful and the 2nd 2 sets thru ebay all with zero problems. You might get favorable results by calling back and speaking to a different rep, if it's worth your time.

Nicole is the customer service rep and she's the only one,I don't particularly want to talk to her again.

I have sent them copies of my receipt.I think the problem arises from the free 2 day shipping poping up during the process. It processed me through and apparently tires are not eligible, that's fine but they need to fix there site so it doesn't pop up on ineligible items like the tires. It may have kicked my order out because of that and my card wasn't charged til several days after I initially ordered and maybe the price of the tires went up,but that's not my problem.

No matter what "Nicole" says, the tires were on sale through January 31st. This is my third set of '023 tires plus many other items from Chaparrel and so far [knocking on wood], they've been good to deal with.

I also recall a popup window came up during my ordering process with the same shipping deal, I declined it though. Don't give up, try again with a supervisor.

Good luck.

If you do call them, mention potential customers will read this thread. Point out that if this issue goes unresolved it will draw negative exposure. They should be delighted for the free advertising of their sale here, however an unresolved complaint could impact future sales.

I live by Chaparral and won’t spend anymore of my money there. I bought my son a 2011 KLX110 and that was only because they were the only dealer that had one in stock at the time. They are a great place for sitting on all the new bikes and trying on gear but the customer service absolutely sucks. I compare it to Jiffy lube because they hire a bunch of teenagers that don’t give a crap and most of them only work for a summer or two and move on.
