When do we get hard specs on the new Concours??? Really need to know about power, etc. before getting too excited.

And hey, you know you'll be able to get a turbo for it since it's brother is the ZX14Come on Groo give it up! Deleted ain't fair to those who want to know!deleted
That horrible can would have to be the first thing to go....
I have sat on a ZX14 - felt very nice.
I hear they go like stink, especially if the throttle bodies/whatever are modded...
I hope the wheels fall of when you aren't riding it!When do we get hard specs on the new Concours??? Really need to know about power, etc. before getting too excited.
I'm not getting excited about the new connie, don't get me wrong, I like Kawasaki, I have a nice little vulcan I ride for commuting and I like it alot.
However once in a while you get one that JUST FITS, and for me thats the FJR. I'll be riding this bike till the wheels fall off.
The variable valve timing, not to mention the low end tuning will probably have a very significant effect on the fuel economy, so I would not base your fuel economy estimates solely on the zx-14. Fuel economy will probably be significantly better if they can keep the weight down and the shaft drive low loss (yeah, not likely, i know).I too am considering the move from an FJR to a Concours 14 based on the preliminary information. I am curious regarding your gas mileage comment: how does the mileage of your ZX14 compare to that of your FJR in similar conditions. I had attributed the reports of poor mileage on the ZX 14 (including my brother's) to rider's inability to resist the immense power on tap, and would love to know what the ZX 14 will get at a steady 70 MPH. Thanks in advance.
I gues I have no right to bring this up given how few miles I clock but...
I just don't get the MPG concerns on any MC. It is a vehicle driven for fun, so who cares?!? And those that commute, if it is the highest MPG you are seeking, get a scooter. What is the real diff between 36 and 42 MPG, anyway??

it's the difference between 7 gas stops and 5 gas stops on a BBG. at an average of 15 minutes each (when was the last time you stopped for gas, water, and a pee in that time or less?), that's 30 minutes you've saved in by doing nothing more than picking the bike with a little better MPG. For those who take longer at each stop, then the time savings will be even greater. What is the real diff between 36 and 42 MPG, anyway??
Ya..... sure.... but I guess they didn't mention whether they were the (only) 2 in Caili as opposed to the others in other various states....& the 2 up in Canada (for our shows) ....figures....Just so you know Connie was on a pedestal at Long Beach too. Only 2 preproductions models according to Kawi guys.
Uh oh. Don't tell me we're losing Tom to Kawasaki. B)@ the Toronto show the bike was up on a pedestal, yet the Kawasaki representatives were letting any one who wanted to sit on it do so....just ask huron52....he did ....
I don't think so Geezer....he didn't seem over impressed but you'd have to ask him  ....Uh oh. Don't tell me we're losing Tom to Kawasaki.
