coolent leak on my 03

Took a ride last Saturday and after a few hours after getting home I noticed a few drops of coolent under the water pump and a drop hanging from the bottom of the pump.First time this has happened,has anyone had the rubber o-ring seal on the water pump start leaking out of the blue?

Could be the o-ring leaking on the housing body, but if coolant is coming out of the weep hole, it's the mechanical seal. Check out the exploded water pump view Item #4. If it's just started it could be something as simple as a piece of dirt lodged on the seal faces which might stop, or the seal is worn out. In any event it's probably not going to get any better.

You can also check that all the hose clamps are tight.

I havent had a chance to get up under the bike with a flash light to inspect,It just looks like a gasket leak.

Thanks for the replys. I have checked the hoses and they show no signs of leakage.
