And there lies the irony! Instead of using your skills to AVOID a crash, by braking or swerving, you GUARANTEED a crash by laying the bike down. Rubber tires on wheels with brakes applied, slow a bike much faster than chrome (or tupperware) sliding on asphalt.

Another curious phrase, often seen on YouTube, preceeding an entertaining clip

It means: "I screwed up" (generally caused by an unreasonable fear of the front brake) "and low-sided/high sided." (depending upon when the locked-up rear brake was released)
