Ok, before you start, I did look on the floor. I was pulling the key out of the ignition, looked away at something else, bumped my hand and it was gone. :assassin: I pushed the bike out of the garage and turned on all the lights, it's not there. I have the bike in the sun light, took off the two side panels and I can't spot it anywhere. Any suggestions before I do any more? Also I have my main key ring in the "glove" box with the spare key on it. Is there a way to open it w/out breaking it?

I have some good advice when you find your lost key.

Try to remember if you heard it hit anything metal. I would guess that it is somewhere around the radiator. On the plastic above the radiator.

try patialy removing the top cowling, and take a peek in ?? loosen the lower fairing and shake it a bit see if may be wedged in there somewhere, other than that you may have a little gremlin running around your garage

There are a couple of tricky crevices a key could fall into. From a rider’s position, which side of the bike were you standing on or were you sitting on the bike?

Did all of that. Sounded like plastic. 8 yr old daughter reached in and can't feel them any where. I still have the side panels off and still cant see it. I was standing on the right, but I think it went to the left.

It might be possible for your keys to fall under the tank, through the steering head. If they did they would probably be on top of the Jiffy Pop.

If you remove the vertical black plastic panel that surrounds the glove box, you should be able trigger the latch without damage.

Sitting on top of one of the horns? On top of the radiator? I agree with the magnet trick....assuming the keys are not brass.

I once did that on my Connie and the were on top of the engine valve cover. Luckily the store I was parked in front of had a clothes hanger I could bend a "hook" into and snatch them.

I'll bet your key is under your tank. Remove the two 10mm (8mm?) screw at the front of the tank, loosen the bolt at the rear, get the seat out of the way, and rotate the tank back and take a look. I lost mine down there once.

Didn't lose mine there but agreeing with under the tank. Betcha they hit right between the uprights and slid downl Put one of those REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT tags on it.

Sounds like a magnet fishing trip may help . . .

Nobody makes steel keys. Don't waste your time with a magnet fishing trip.
IME the 08 key isn’t ferromagnetic. However, his key is on a key chain with at least two keys on it. So, the ring or the other key may be attracted to a magnetic. I believe he’ll find em. Hope so anyway.
